Fantastic to see this can be so easily updated and utilising all the additional GPIO's.

Very interesting video. I have a question for you. Sonoff POWR3 with the original firmware read a active positive power also if the power is negative. Using Tasmota software the behaviour is the same? I ask you this question because I need also the sign of the active power
@notenoughtech Жыл бұрын
Would this be for the application of solar charging and battery consumption? You might be using a wrong device for this. They are designed to be one way relays. Have you modified the circuit somehow?

Hi, thanks for your Video. I followed all the different Steps, but I do not see any metering information on the web interface. I use version 11.1.0 from Tasmota, made the modification concerning the Relay_i, but no info In the template I have one difference ; The GPIO1 and GPIO3 are set to NONE as a do not find the CSE7766 TX/RX in the list of possible parameters Do you see any reason why the metering data is not schonw ?
@notenoughtech2 жыл бұрын
If they made changes to the relay map in tasmota that could be the issue. Have you tried to reset the tasmota from software then apply the template?
@marcdurbach70362 жыл бұрын
@@notenoughtech I just applied your tempolate, now I see the Metering, but all values stay at 0
@notenoughtech2 жыл бұрын
Ok that's a good sign. Reboot done after that? If yes then next up check with templates if your template and mine uses the same pinout . New tasmota could have mapped other pin options

after first fails on two devices i got it up to work. Hold both buttons all the time after powering the device. plug in usb. tasmotize it with smallest version (lite) wait until finish. release buttons. repower device. send config via published string with applied wifi setting. use internal upgrade feature to raise to full versions. if flashing fails repeat and repeat. can take some tries. maybe you need more than two hands :-)

Thank you for the video. I am not sure why I'm struggling so badly to flash this one. I have the exact same FTDI programmer as you which works with the SONOFF BASIC, however when trying to flash the POWR3 what I have noticed is that I only have 1.5v on the RX pin, while I have 3.08v on VCC and 3.08v on TX. When measuring these voltages while connected to the SONOFF BASIC, I have 3v across all 3 pins, VCC, TX and RX. Something seems a bit strange here. It is also worth noting that I have 2 POWR3's and both are behaving exactly the same, so it seems strange if something was faulty with one of them. Any ideas?

Have you tried another usb cable? Also consider using the FTD via powered hub. Could be a voltage drop due to higher current requirement of the powr3
@TheWinkaway2 жыл бұрын
@@notenoughtech Thanks for the quick reply. I have tried another USB cable - even though my current one works with the BASIC. Unfortunately I do not have a powered USB hub however I did plug the FTDI into an Apple usb wall plug, just to see if the voltage differed, which it did not. I have also measured the current flow between the FTDI and the POWR3 and it was around ~48mA. This was the same current reading as the BASIC. I do not have any more info for now but if I do find out the issue I will let you know. Thanks again

Have you tried swapping the tx Rx pair? Sometimes these are not consistent in how things are labelled. Won't hurt to try. Also double check if you are putting the esp into flash mode. These things can be finicky
@TheWinkaway2 жыл бұрын
@@notenoughtech Yes, I've swapped RX and TX many times with various combinations of cables and power supplies etc. I am also pretty sure that the ESP is booting into flash mode as normally it would boot into the default firmware and get an IP from my DHCP, so when holding the FLASHING button during power on I can only assume it is booting into flash mode as it does not obtain an IP.
@TheWinkaway2 жыл бұрын
I have even gone as far as ensuring that the header pins on the POW3 actually make it to the ESP8266 chip, which they do. RX -> pin 25 TX -> pin 26

Very nice that sonoff even includes the header connections :) kudos to them! I don't know however what I could use this for hahaha maybe to enable/disable the dryer based on current electricity tariff? Noting though that it should operate as long as there is power consumption hahsh I don't want to cut off electricity if it is already running. Other than that, I have no devices at home that require that much power haha
