I have super super thick long hair. My suggestion is also to use silk drops or some kind of smoothing cream before you flat iron instead of constantly combing through it. It will give tons of shine and help with frizz throughout the day. I get compliments every day on my hair.

Thanks for this video, you must have read my mind this morning! UPDATE: I did everything you told me to do with my flatiron (a cheapo) and my hair finally turned out good today. I've been fighting with flat ironing it, and am always in a hurry and trying to iron huge chunks. It didn't take me as much time as I thought it would to get ready, by just following your steps and taking smaller chunks. I am so thankful for this video!

I was subscribed to your channel ages ago, it was my go to for hair help, then it disappeared from my feed. I couldn't remember the name of the channel, so it disappeared completely. Now I was browsing some hair stuff and it popped up and to my surprise, it didn't come up as subscribed. So now I'm back in and hopefully KZbin won't "unsubscribe" me against my will again.

The mistakes: - Not using a heat protector (cream or spray) on damp hair before blow drying/straightening. Try to also take a break from heating generally. - Not sectioning (note: her hair was first split into 3 major sections: top, and bottom left and right. Bottom left and right were then each split into 3 smaller sections. Top was then split into right, back and left, with the right and left being split each into 3 smaller sections. Make sure that each section is not thick enough that the heat can fully penetrate it. Also, after finishing from the bottom major sections, clamp them instead of putting them in a ponytail) - Not adjusting the temperature of the flat iron - Not combing out hair before flat ironing it (note: she flat irons each section only once by going through it slowly) Tip: ironing each section towards the top direction will create volume as opposed to leaving it flat.

To get a smoother look run the comb right in front of the iron, do it together. Comb in front and flat iron right behind it.

This was so helpful to me. Thank you for showing the correct way. I have watched a few on the subject and I was glad no backcombing was involved.. bc it would only produce frizz no matter how many attempts I had made or products I had tried on my wavy hair. Time to section and do it properly. I enjoy your make up tutorials as well as product recommendations. You have recommended several winners for me. Really glad I kept on watching as each video came out. Your content is very helpful to a 40 something who realized its time to start learning. Sincere thanks!!

Hello my favorite YT Hair Guru!!! What do you recommend to help with static? I have color treated, shoulder length, fine, thin, straight hair that I wash every other day and straight iron on Day 2. The static this winter on day 2 is making me bananas! Thanks for your input (or anyone with any suggestions). Thanks for all you hair tutorials...old and new, I love them all!!! -Signed Hair Envy From KS 😉
@amberstephens64444 жыл бұрын
I'm in Nebraska, so I definitely understand the static problem! What I do is spray my brush or comb with hairspray and comb it through. It works well and helps all day. You can also use a dryer sheet and pull your hair through it in sections. But the scent can be strong and doesn't always go away. But it works!

Do you know what actual temperature we should use on the iron? Mine shows the temp. Thanks!
@danielleswafford76454 жыл бұрын
its gonna depend on your hair texture, your specific flat iron, etc etc. the best thing to do is just try different temperatures (try to use it as low as possible and then add heat) to find out what temperature works but is still safest/as kind as possible on your hair type. i'd start at like 330-350.
