How to Flatten Rough cut Slab of Wood with Electric hand held Planner

What kind of cutting depth are you setting the planer to?

It was set as deep as it would go so that it wouldn’t slow down the motor much at a push rate that was comfortable for me, which wasn’t a very big cut. Maybe 3/64 or 1/32. Not much. But adjust for what works with your lumber and planner. Thanks,

Good old hand planer would work well too. I rarely get any use out of my electric anymore. Stanley #6 or 7 would do the trick.

Someday I want to try doing something like this with a hand plane but I don’t think I’ll slab quite so out of wack. Definitely don’t want to over look the good old manual ways of getting it done! Thanks,
