As always, excellent topic!, nice video. Keeping yourself genuine, respectful, demonstrate real interest and treat the other person the same way you want to be treated. I think those are the most important things when you are trying to establish a relationship. 👍

Well, for a sighted person to "Flirt" with a blind, already shows that this person doesn't have prejudices, which, yells you that even if it won't work as a Boyfriend/girlfriend, could be someone nice to have for a friend. Also, must say that is completely different if one is visually impaired or blind. Probably lots of people wouldn't believe it, but, it's much harder for a vip than for a blind.
@BlindtoBillionaire5 жыл бұрын
Hi, I just read your comment and I completely agree with you. Very well said! If someone is flirting with a blind or visually impaired person, they are not prejudice and they are actually excepting the person for who they are even though they have the affliction. That is so cool to see. From my experience, there are definitely some very good people out there, but the majority seem to judge right away and never give us a chance with me makes it very difficult. Thank you again for watching this video and for the comment, this is very well said and I agree with you! Have a great Monday, see you later today in another video. Matt

Hi Tonie, I think that is great advice. I think sometimes the tougher times bring you closer and for us it’s a lot about how the other person perceives your actions and words versus what the actual intention was. It’s a process! Thank you! Corey

Thanks for this great video, Corey. It brings great insight about a topic for which institutions and academic researchers in general have very few callouts on the problem and no statistics published. Although your tips are helpful, I'd like to ask you about casual meetings (i.e. a party, a disco, a group in a friend's house, etc.) instead of coming into a relationship. While it is true that blind people pay a lot attention on things like voice, hands taking, hair and even skin softness during tinny touch contacts we can do without being invasive with the other person at first, I feel that people don't understand us and that there is an unfortunate self-convincing on many blind people that the current situation is right. I'm frustrated about "normal" people often saying me that the important thing is how the personality is and that I have an advantage over the rest because I'm able to concentrate on that aspect of people without being distracted by considering prettiness based on canonical averages. I agree that personality and heart is important, and I consider myself sufficiently smart to appreciate a conversation with an intelligent girl. However, a person is a whole, including the physical appearance, and I think it is legitimate that in a specific case I want to privilege attractiveness over how good or smart someone is. When I discussed this with some friends they told me I'll appear as a pervert if I touch, despite they staring and commenting about how desi certain girls are; when I reply them that they look with the same purpose, they say that looking is not the same as touching and they look but don't touch, as if I could choose to look. Even my own brother suggested like the rest that I should to trust in third parties, but deciding if a girl is pretty or not is subjective, and things my friends may say are just descriptions - as someone telling you about a given cake you haven't eat yet. A good friend of mine told me that I have to speak about this when I'm interested in a particular girl, but I'm always afraid that she could think I'm treating her as a bitch. I'm also desperate when girls do not send back signals I can interpret after I trying eyeglances, when they answer me very literally to questions or subtle comments with clear flirting intention (sometimes shocked with the idea of a blind guy having sexual desires); but the 1st in frustrating things ranking is probably when I want to get closer to a girl whose voice/initial tinny contacts I liked and anyone else, known or unknown, wants to be solidary and ask me if I need something/help or where I want to go, breaking my attempts to building my own space as "normal" people do for this. Having told you these things, I'd like to ask you how could I touch a girl without she to think I'm treating her as a bitch and being perceived as an abuser, and which gesture could I do to let a girl know I'd like to get a bit farter of the other people when I'm into a party or small meeting. Congrats for the contents in this channel! And again, thanks for your perspective on this topic!

great topic. I honestly haven't thought about this topic at all really. I was sited when I meet my husband years ago. I honestly haven't thought about this because I lost my vision in 2015 long after I was married. So interesting question. Me and my husband were married in 2005 we just had our anniversary on April 2nd. Life is so much different now than I had pictured at that time.

Thanks for this video Corey. I really appreciate your perspective as a sited spouse. As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been pretty discouraged in the relationship department. And seeing you guys happy marriage does give me hope, so I really appreciate that. But it seems to me most of the time when you see a sited and blind person married, the blind person is the man. I think that reflects on the fact that women can see that blindness does not limit us in most things, and guys tend to have a harder time with that. But even so those are the observations that I’ve made, and I know I still have many years of exploring to go. However, being 20 and never having anyone hit on you it is slightly discouraging. I was wondering if you’ve ever seen a couple where the blind spouse is a woman? Anyway sorry to rant, Thanks again. You guys are awesome!❤️❤️❤️

Hey Cory, get on an airplane to San Jose and when you land you will go down to the baggage claim. Once you have collected your bags do a 180° turn and walk out to the curb it will be exactly 42 steps. I would pick you up but I don’t drive so just take the Uber over to my house, once you get out of the Uber turn right and walk up the sidewalk to my front door where I will greet you with a single longstem rose. You can put your bags down and join me in the kitchen for a cool crispy spinach salad garnished with feta carrots, Cherry tomatoes and glazed walnuts. You can chase that down with Sam Napa Valley rose wine. Then will step out to the side yard where the barbecue will be grilling a garlic sautéed lemon sauce with K per piece of salmon. Of course it on the top rack will be the sweet corn and the asparagus warming up. After that lovely dinner will have some tiramisu and chase it down with a Bailey’s Irish cream coffee. Hey Matt and Corey, great video I just thought that I would do a pretend flirt and use Korrie as a subject matter. Of course you guys know I am just kidding just wanted to have some fun this nice Friday afternoon here in California. Matt I am so glad that you have released the warm sun and let it travel over here to California because it’s in the mid-70s and it’s going to be into the mid-80s this weekend.The real scenario is that when you both come visit California we can actually do this scenario and will have you over for a deliciously yummy barbecue and you can pick the meat or fish or chicken of your choice and I will do it up. Thanks Korrie that’s a great tip for theSingle VIP is out there. I am sure they all appreciate it as I appreciate the wonderful videos you guys put out. Oh and hey Matt I’m doing my second volunteer trip on the train tomorrow from San Jose to San Luis Obispo and then back up. I’m looking forward to it. Have a great weekend guys

Cory! As a blind person how would I know if a girl was flirting with me and the girl was sighted. I mean we always hear it from the blind perspective but as a side individual like yourself, how do we as blind people know when the sighted people are flirting with us
@BlindtoBillionaire5 жыл бұрын
Hi Jon, this is Corey. I think there is less flirting from across the room like cute looks and stuff than you would think. If a girl is flirting with you she will come up to you and start talking to you. Or she will message you back on a dating site. I was single and dated as a sighted person for a lot of years and I never met someone who was giving me googley eyes across the room. You will know she likes you if she stands close to you and finds a reason to be in your conversation. Ask her about herself. It will keep her engaged.
@BlindtoBillionaire5 жыл бұрын
If she doesn’t write back or seem interested that’s okay because it means she isn’t the right person. Matt had a lot of wrong girls before he met me and it’s defeating, but you just got to keep looking for the right one. She is out there. I hope this helps a little, Corey
@jondsurprise54445 жыл бұрын
Well they can just come up to u just to talk but I feel like that doesn’t give signs? Maybe I am looking at this the wrong way because I am shy and not a lot of people comes up to me to talk unless it is a super old lady lol. However, I also feel like sighted people are discourage about someone that is blind.
@abbyhipps45325 жыл бұрын
Jon D surprise this was actually a really good question, one that I’ve thought of many times. I appreciate the answer, but I feel the same way you do Jon. I’m very introverted and blind or not, that discourages people from interacting with you as much. And then when you’re blind on top of that, it just makes it 10 times harder.
@BlindtoBillionaire5 жыл бұрын
Hi Jon, is Sighted People aren’t interested in you because of your vision they aren’t the right people for you. If any girl talks to you and is nice you can assume she is a little interested unless she is married or has a boyfriend. Just get to know her like you would any person and then the chemistry can build. Corey

I don't know what to do! Being black and blind just scared people away from me. I feel like Shrek. But even he got Fiona! What do I do when the look of my face scares away women? I tried online dating but I still scare away women with my pictures of my eyes and my face. Then I get used for money by the ones that do like me. I fight daily to stay alive, & my mom tries to keep me positive but my PTSD makes things worse. If I had a companion, a girlfriend that would help my mental health. What do I do?

@omerylmaz9585 жыл бұрын
hello. as a blind guy, i can talk about the dating from the blind guys persfective cant talk from a ghirls point of view xd. first, as corry said, independence is so much importent. İf your going evrywhere with somebody and dont know to travel arouod yourself, you have to gain your independence otherwhyes your sort of screwed because you always have to travel around. 2, you should act as yourself, act natural let the things go normal, do not act unnaturaly act as yourself. 3, looking theeyes thing. For some reason i can do it somewhat. For a fiew seconds i look like a dum robot like adjusting its eyes lol but then i can focus a spot closer to the other persons eye, i cant see weather they are loking me or not but you can somewhat figure out from the conversation. Focus on the voice of the person and try to look tward that way and a liddle bit higher so i hope you can look the closer to the eyes with this way. İ know its impossable to the focus to the inside of the eye but (i hope it is the right term in english). 3 dont imidiutly try to touch on somethings, yeah your hands can be your eyes but others can get this one as a totally diffrent things. Touching a ghirlse head seems nice at the first thoughtbut maybe the other person does not likes it, observe them carefully first, consitter their reactions to your questions and so. 3 or 4 i forgot lol, do not talk about your blindness unless she asked you, ima blind because bla bla ima blind so bla bla bla that might get anoying, you dont have special powers nore the other person, atleast what i think haha talking about sighted and blindness can be anoying. 5, be peacefull with yourself, if you still didnt accepted yourself as a blind, its hard, you cant love someone if you didnt happy with yourself. anyway my fingers are tired lol, have a nice day, offtopic, if your using iphone considder using brail input, with that way, you can type as fast as a sightet, use this one in whatsapp conversations lols.
