Can you expand more please on what you mean by voter issues? How do you address them during a debate or identify them?

that would be the key points in the round for your judge decide who wins (they have to vote for you to win, hence the name voting issues)

My very first PF debate is next week. 😣 This video really helped! But the only problem I'm probably going to face in a debate round is not being able to write quickly. Like literally when I hear this rlly important thing my opponents say, I write it down and because of how slow I write, they already talk about another important argument and it ends up in a never ending cycle. In the end, almost everything I put down is like only half written or not even written.😅 Pls help if ya'll have any tips.

Ahhh!! How did it go? I usually try my best too, but my advice is to become so well-versed in all possible arguments that you don't need to fully hear your opponent to know what they are talking about.

I’m a sophomore going into varsity LD from varsity PF. I broke at natquals and did pretty decent in PF, but LD seems like a whole other beast. What are some of the key things I’d benefit from knowing? I also havent had too much time to prep and competition is in four-ish days 😬

ooh okay it’s definitely easier to switch going in the other direction but i’m sure you’re fine. know your cases inside and out and be confident in arguing all of your points. keep in mind that unlike PF, there’s nobody else to help pick up the slack for you so you have to do all the arguing by yourself. have the mentality that you’re going to win and then GO DO IT!

Set abbreviations to make your note-taking less work! I used to come up with a set of terms relevant to the topic that I'd abbreviate in my notes

@@LiveLikeLex i didnt break, i won 2 rounds but for the 2 rounds i DID win im still proud. None of us broke actually, 2 were originally BUT when they cut the list down to 8 we just, werent on there. Poor circumstamce We went and watched varsity, that was fun Even though i wasnt the BEST i actually really enjoyed the experience, even just chilling was fun

Congratulations. Do you think flowcharts are more important than debate rounds? I request that you leave debate rounds aside for a moment and produce a flowchart for: Resolved, all Class 1 carcinogens should carry a warning label. I wish you and your friends would make a flowchart for this and present it in a KZbin video. There is no need for a debate round, right? The flowchart is where it's at. A video where you step through an excellent flowchart in just five minutes.... Oh wow that would be so good.
