How To Flush Power Steering Fluid Mercedes W210

Hi guys, in this video I'll be showing you guys how to flush your power steering fluid on your mercedes w210. You will need 1.5 liters of power steering fluid for flushing the whole system.

So let's talk about this. The W210 came with 2 types of power steering. For the sake of easy reference, we'll call the older one the "regular hydraulic" one, and the new one the "electric hydraulic" one. The old "regular hydraulic" one uses CHF. The new "electric hydraulic" one uses MB 236.3 Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF). The old one is a simple rack-and-pinion, the new one is a ball-type steering (very similar, but different). Using CHF in the newer one will lead to bad leaking and worn seals over time, as the CHF eats away the gaskets and will destroy your steering assembly over time.

Update: By the looks of it, you seem to have the newer system. You should flush out the CHF and replace with MB 236.3 to avoid problems.

When you say the old and new one, do you mean the pre facelift (1996-1999) and facelift (1999-2002) models?

Thank you for the information. Not sure what is the side effect for using chf11s oil because until today my car does not show problem. Again, thank you for the information, went the next service for my power steering fluid i will use mb344 fluid.

Just finee no problem. Just like 9 month after using it there is o-ring leak. Then, i drain all the oil & someone in the comment mention my power steering system should use the atf oil. So I change to atf oil & replace new o-ring. Why ? Do you have problem with your power steering system ?

@HAMIDcg163 really, the pump does not work anymore ?? I just unbolt and there is 2 o-ring. So i just replace it.

My power steering system a bit noisy when cold using green oil other then that everything okay.

only newer mercedes need CHF, older mercedes you can just use regular power steering red fluid.

Someone commented and said the pre facelift model of the w210 needs chf. The facelift needs special Mercedes steering oil.

If you have similar power steering like me, use atf 722.6 oil. Someone in the comment section advice me that my power steering should use atf 722.6 oil not this pentosin oil. But the step by step on how to do power steering oil change is the same in the video. Happy flushing your w210 power steering 👍🏼

@@khasyafsufiadmin4069 i am very sorry for the late respond but if you have similar power steering like mine. Then, use atf oil. If you have the old version power steering then use pentosin oil as in the video. Hope this help you my friend
