HOW TO FLY WITH TWO DOGS AND A BABY // Pet In Cabin Air Canada International Flight Vlog

How to fly with two dogs as pet in cabin and a baby with Air Canada international flight. We are traveling from Montreal International Airport YUL to Los Angeles International Airport LAX.
A few tips to make your trip easier:
book your flight in advance
advise the airline that you are traveling with two dogs (one per person) as pet in cabin and pay the pet fees in advance
advise the airline that you are traveling with a baby
check in ahead of time
pack light if you can
don't wear any clothes/harnesses on your pets - they will need to be removed when passing through security
wear layers of clothes in case it's too hot or too cold
avoid wearing a belt as it will need to be removed through security
the baby will need to be out of the car seat/stroller/baby carrier through security
bring a reusable empty water bottle that you can fill up after security
bring a collapsible water bowl for the pets
bring some treats for the pets

As a mama to two cavaliers (which are both still puppies, technically), and two toddlers (ages 4), I FELT the anxiety in the beginning of this video. For me and my girls and doggos, it’s so stressful just going out for a day of shopping.. let alone flying! You guys did SO GOOD, and all I have to say is THANK GOD FOR GRANDMAS! Awww I'm so glad that the travelling went pretty well for everyone. Well done Oasis and Super Grandma! I would have given lots of hugs and try to pet the girls as much as I could do so they wouldn't feel so trapped in their carriers. I didn't know airports had pet relief areas. This is pretty heartwarming, so stressing I’m sure but grandma being one adult up to the trio really level things up all the security and stuff seems like a challenge really! The red anxiety jumpers ware so cute and also helps seeing them so bad they have to take it off! Seeing a happy family all having one night sleep in the same room safe and sound is nice the dogs and the baby are so well behaved!

I flew on my first flight with my pup max last summer and it was with air Canada and it was an amazing experience (Newark to Calgary alberta) but I was so nervous because I’ve heard mixed things bout them turning away pets due to size of dogs! Good job guys what perfect travelers!!! I feel that anxiety when I take quick trips with my not so behaved puppy 😂 clawing at the bag and barking down the plane and we are only going on a 2hr flight… you’d think he’d be used to it going at least 2-3 times a month but he needs some advice from Herky and Milton and Oasis!!!

Herky is an 18lbs cavalier! She fits in the Sherpa size L carrier but cannot stand in it. She can turn though! I think it depends on who you stumble upon at the check in counter at the airport. When in doubt, I guess a smile and good attitude helps? :)

Thank you for your insightful video! I'm planning on flying with Air Canada from L.A to Korea because I heard that Air Canada is one of the more pet friendly airlines (along with Singapore Airlines). We were going to fly Asiana or Korean Air, but their maximum weight requirement cuts off at 7kg, pet and carrier total. Can you please tell me how tall Herky and Milton are from top of head to the floor? And what about the dog carriers? Did you get a size large Sherpa carrier or a medium? It looks like a large (which would be an 11.5") but it's hard to tell? Did they say anything about the bag being slightly larger height wise if it's a large? If it's a medium, did they say anything aboout the bag being too small for the dogs? Of the two bags in the video, would you say the Sherpa or the blue bag is roomier? The reason I am confused is because the maximum height for the carrier is 10.5" for economy and 11" for business class with Air Canada. Although my chiweenie fits all the other criteria, my dog is ~14" head to floor and about ~9-10" sitting up. I'm afraid I will be rejected at check-in. I have heard horror stories of check-ins and flight attendants giving passengers a hard time because the dog could not fully stand in the carrier. Did you have any issues or concerns with your dog's heights? Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for making this video! Any chance you can share the height measurement of your dog carriers? I am flying air canada with my dog next week and have a 13” tall carrier. Online it says their carrier max height requirement is for 10.5”, but on the phone they told me if it’s a soft carrier it’s ok to exceed… So just trying to figure out if 13” will be okay / if it’ll fit under the seat! What was the size of yours? Btw, you guys rock for accomplishing this!!

BUT, i did call air canada when I still thought I was gonna be flying, and I asked and they told me if it is a soft sided carrier it’s ok to exceed 10.5” but if it’s a hard shell carrier it’s not. but she told me they will not actually take a measuring tape out and measure it. hope this helps!

I'm planning to fly to Europe from Montreal in the fall and read very negative feedbacks about Air Canada allowing in-cabin dogs who can't fully stand in the carrier. Also do you have an email for the specific department to contact to add Jazzeek to the itinerary please? Prefer email over phone call to have a record. I'm having the same concern as you. How tall is your dog? My chiweenie is 14" head to floor, 14lbs. There is no acceptable bag that is 14". Air Canada's max on business class is 11". Did you end up traveling with your dog? I've heard too many stories now of the check-ins giving the passengers a hard time due to the height requirement.

Those are technically the requirements but we haven't had any issues, no. If a dog can actually stand in the carrier, only chihuahuas would be able to fly lol personally they never checked that!
