@blah1176 I haven't shot them much but I've had no issues with them compared to the gen 1 and gen 2 that others were complaining about which I do believe that Sylvan arms made better. The only thing I shoot alot is my 9mm pistol carbine.

I'm running the Gen 3 LAW on my 7.5" 300 pistol build with an H2 buffer (BCA side-charging upper) and with 110 and 150 gr home-rolled (minimum range loads) I've had ZERO problems with over 500rds. Great ejection pattern, no FTE's/FTF's, all good. Haven't run any max loads or subs yet.

The extra weight really is like running a heavy buffer, I've been running the Sylvan Arms for about a year now and the only problem I have had is the alen head bolt loosened up but it was a easy fix, I know those guys and they have a great company

On AR pistols that I have experienced, a heavier buffer or that extended weight on the bolt shouldn't be a problem since you usually see over gassing issues more often on pistols anyways.

The law tactical actually allows you to fire once while open. It holds the bolt in place, so you only get one shot. You then can close it, and charge a round.

I've got a Law Tactical on a DI AR15 300BO which has worked well. I also have 5.56 and 300BO bufferless, short-stroke piston driven BRN180-S pistols with SBT side-folding FF1913A's that attach to the picatinny rails. IMO they make up for the lack of length of pull adjustment by being removable and offer um, retention of ownership options not found on traditional AR pistols.

I got it back, it looks like they rebarreled, but I still can't group well with it. I'm going to try it again when I have time. @@texasghost6725 And where is the insult? He's stating a fact. The castle nut orientation is important for multiple reasons, such as torque application and staking. There is nothing wrong with pointing out an error in mechanical assembly, as we all make mistakes. I have done it, others have done it, and pointing it out without insult (which carlton did) has saved lives...in my own experience. Nothing wrong here, don't look for a fight where there shouldn't be one.
@asymsolutions
@asymsolutions 4 жыл бұрын
@MS NPC it still has vibrational force on it...and the fact that he put it on backwards on a castlenut that doesnt have the cutouts on both sides screams of being handthreaded and not torqued. And I already knew there is no buffer, but i didnt think you would waste bringing up something that doesnt matter.

MS NPC I have two Stribogs, the first generation (reciprocating) and second generation (non reciprocating) charging handles. I have close to 300 shotguns, military collectible firearms, pistols, NFA Suppressors, SBRs, AOW Serbu shotgun, AR pistols in 556, 7.62x39 and 22lr. and of course standard ARs most with Timney or Rise triggers and some have Trijicon RMR red dots and of course a very nice collection of cowboy style pistols, rifles, shotguns. Two original Winchester 97 shotguns, one is used and the other one looks almost brand new. I have modern pistols too, S&W. Glock, Sig Sauer, Ruger, Colt 1911 collectibles, regular 1911 by different manufacturers, CZ pistols, almost every model except the very high end ones and I mean over $2000 ones. I have between 15,000-20,000 rounds of ammo. You name it, I probably have the caliber gun and ammo. I have over 50 years of buying, trading and selling over 1000 guns and no I am not a dealer. I am someone who enjoys working on guns. Almost all my guns have been completely taken apart, parts replaced or polished and cleaned then put back together. Yes and I do the same for friends guns because it’s my lifelong hobby. SO YES IT DOES MATTER IF YOU HAVE THE CASTLE NUT ON BACKWARDS, IT DOES NOT PROPERLY TIGHTEN UP THE WAY IT IS THREADED ON. Now is there anything else firearm related I can point out to you?

Had the Sylvan for a year and upgraded the retainer pin to the ring type. I don't see a problem with the bolt carrier making contact like I did with the pin type,also Lantac suppressor bolts OD is too large to work with the Sylvan Arms Ring type retainer. I am looking at removing the folding mechanism altogether simply because it's just another item to break at the worst possible moment. I like the compact design,I enjoy the smaller,lighter carbine type rifles but I see no reason to have it given the current state of affairs. Might as well pop on an actual stock..

if you measure them in total length you can see that the Law tactical is way bigger more bulky almost twice the size but the gap from the other one is just that they did not cover it with more housing like law tactical made there device but it is still bigger than the one with the gap....tho i wonder if you can just ad a spacer to cover the gap like the law tactical looks and is designed to cover it.

For 5.56/.223 the minimum barrel length is 10" the rounds loses too much velocity at the muzzle to get good penetration and lacks fragmentation at even 20 yards. I run a 10.5 and have seen good results on ballistic mediums with 55grain projectiles

It appears that the sidewinder is symmetric top to bottom, so it would be possible to mount it to swing to the other side. Is this correct? Is it possible to remove the hinge/button and install it on the other end of the hinge? It looks like it should be possible by removing the Allen screw. If so, you could modify the locking mechanism so that it will unlock without pushing the button. You just need to take it apart and file the edges of the locking surfaces at an angle so they will cam when you pull on the stock.

Great video, does any of the folding system fit a CMMG Banshee?
@stephenlott6968
@stephenlott6968 5 жыл бұрын
Tom Trang - Excellent idea. The Banshee has a buffer tube so I think it should fit. That would make the greatest AR pistol even better. If you do it, please make a video about it.

Great video. I love the Law Tactical build with the bolo (sp?) system. Can i ask how much the whole build cost on that one?
@GBGuns
@GBGuns 6 жыл бұрын
That was a pricey one. The Dolos system, Law Tactical, and V Seven upper made up most of the cost. You'll have to check around to see what the going rates are. It also has the Brownell's light-weight bolt carrier.

@@GBGuns I do like the idea of the LAW & DOLOs combo (Very Much) but my take or hypothesis is just disassembling the upper & lower with extended takedown pins $10 might be just as fast and perhaps more reliable although far less fun or cool. I would add Raven concealments TopStop AR Upper Receiver Cover $10 and OPTIONALLY a good bag to ready the system like the Grey Ghost Gear Apparition SBR Short Barreled Rifle Bag (holds a 10.5 AR assembled 27" to 33" rifle) to this idea too. The cost would be around $25-36 bucks not counting the bag and assure your weapon uses all mil-spec parts for long term repair & reliability. No matter what you carry it must go bang every time! I also use a folding grip (MAKO AGF-43S) and 10 round mag of lead tips in mine to keep my AR pistol smaller to facilitate fast deploy and fit in many truck center consoles. Cheers!

@@JasonStPierre Using the "take down pins" will not retain the bolt carrier group.... The only thing retaining the BCG is the charging handle latch.. As a back pack weapon it will easily dislodge and fall into pieces in your bag....been there done that... And the Dolos system...the barrel and handguard are loose pieces that rattle..... I have a LAW folder and the Cry Havoc take down system.....all pieces are positive assemblies that latch together..... 🤠

That would likely depend on the stock or brace used, if it blocks ejection or not

Looks like the GP version from DK or MM etc. Safety Harbor also has a version. Has the backing plate insert design. Both are very good and work. Carried at many other distributors as well.

@@noahblanks2580 Dang that stinks. Unless I modify the forward assist it might fold all the way maybe. The only other thing to possibly do is get another upper for right side ejection & new barrel. I don’t mind a right side ejection. That’s something I can deal with. Thanks for your help. I definitely appreciate it!!
