2 tips: 1. if spawns are too slow, you need to be further back by the tree 2. if your pokemon keeps coming back, switch to something like Dragonite or change positions! I ended up struggling a bit to start with my pokemon coming back over and over and then it had a good rhythm! I got really mad to see my silly Dragonite come back to me again and kept trying to send it out only to realize I had gotten the shiny LOL Had enough sandwich time to get a shiny frigibax right afterwards!!

Just FYI, any 'floating' pokemon works (doesn't have to be the second violet legendary). I've been using roaring moon with this exact method. I'd assume that salamence would work too. Hope this helps!

Not sure if it was posted but you don’t necessarily have to crash into the tree to start it. Placed myself close to the fence, ZL targeted the Applin and used R Let’s Go auto battle with my Scizor (false swipe user) and the Applins would fall and reappear as shown above. It definitely needs to be something that can “reach” the branch either visually or “logically” (wings or can float) tried with a grounded Sylveon but would refuse to attack. Scizor however wasn’t floating or flying, just walking but the Applin still fell off the branch and respawned.

Thanks for the info, I'll try with flutter mane since miraidon's spikes tend to hide the apple sometimes, snd having a shitty vision. I maxed out my TV's saturation and I use the soom so I can better see the color (esoecialky at night)

Pls pin this, this will work with any pokemon the same hight or higher than Koraidon/ Miraidon. For example this will work with Dondozo because it is bigger than Miraidon(it being the largest pokemon) ps I testest this with Dondozo and it works! Great vid btw

Should work with Dondozo, Gyarados, Cetitan, The segment Dundunsparce Dragonair, and Sandaconda. But I only tested Dondozo Edit: pretty much anything that is tall or hovers can do this

2:02 very important. Make sure all the Pokémon in the party are high level or level 100 as when I tried this. The auto save being off didn’t matter as when one of my Pokémon levels up after battling enough Applin, the game automatically saved and I lost my two herbs mystica due to me restarting me (due to not getting the shiny). minor addition, doesn't seem to work with encounter power 2 sandwiches (for those of us trying to save Herba Mystica). The other spawns just take up the spaces and so it doesn't spawn consistently which makes you have to manually re-setup.

I used Chien-Pao instead of my Miraidon or Koraidon halfway through my sandwich & it worked as well. I farmed same tree as in the video & stood between the tree & bush closest to team star base. Chien-Pao made this afk farm a lot quicker & got two shinies on my first run. Good luck guys! Happy hunting 😊

There might be a better option for Forretress. Above Cassaroya (?) Lake, there's the autumnal looking forest. One of the ponds there seems to spawn nothing but forretresses over it if you stand at the far end of it.

@@nieqai Why are you auto-battling? If you use a Steel Shiny/Encounter sandwich Forretress is the only thing that will spawn and you can just Picnic reset constantly, it's way faster. A pretty easy recipe for level 3 Shiny/Encounter Steel is: 1 Pickle, 1 Cucumber, 3 Hamburger + 2 Herba Mysticas (Any 2 but don't combine or double up Sweet or Sour).

im unsure if anyone else has pointed this out, but you absolutely NEED to have encounter level 3 for this to work. I tried it for a bit with only level 2 and my miraidon kept getting distracted by the other spawns, but when I switched over to a level 3 sandwich no other pokémon aside from applin were spawning allowing me to actually go afk rather than redirecting miraidon every 30 seconds. Even if this seems obvious I just wanted to point out how it absolutely wont work (also, additionally you can use the zoom function by pressing the home button twice to get a better look at the tree to see if a shiny spawned)

Im dealing with somewhat the same issue but I have encounter power level 3. When the applin stop spawning for a few seconds the miradon gets distracted by literally nothing and just wonders off. Ive reset over 10 times already but have no luck and it is really getting frustrating having to redirect it so many times and I don’t know what Im doing wrong.

The most likely cause is that your sandwich actually just sucks/is incorrect but the game is saying you have the buffs. Aside from restarting or time skipping I would try a different recipe altogether. The bread on top doesn't matter, you can just drop it raw on the plate. What matters is that none of your ingredients fall out EVER, not a single one. The recipe he uses is literally the easiest one but if you don't have that specific Herba Mystica here's the recipe I use for Dragon Types: 1 Cucumber, 1 Pickle, 3 Avocado + 2 Herba Mysticas of *almost* any type (You cannot use Sweet x2, Sour x2 or Sweet + Sour!!!!).

I think the Chart you blend in at 2:21 is outdated. A few days ago i found a chart that looked the exact same and it was called "updated" Version. It mainly Focused on the Herba Combinations, since some Combinations dont really work/dont give encounter power.

Wasn't fussed about the shiny Applin line (until Dipplin at least) as I knew given it's size and colour it was going to be super hard to find, but randomly got the Applin outbreak by Medali so decided to give it a go. Nothing from four and a half herba sandwiches! Half because I rage quit from eye strain and after realising a good number were spawning in the rock 🤦‍♂️ found this method and while slow and no shiny yet at least I'm not pulling my hair out over it 😅 Edit: got 2 on my second sandwich attempt 👌

The samwich you made doesn't actually follow the full recipe shown. You only used the 2 herba + one(not two) of the type ingredient. Do you not actually need the onion/pepper/hamburger/2nd type ingredient the chart showed?

If you don't want to use the dash function, you can also lock onto the Pokemon by getting near the tree and then use ZL to enter aiming mode, then throw your Pokemon at it with ZR That's what I did because I don't like pressing L3/R3 on the analog stick

It has to do with the height of the partner Pokémon. Miraidon and Koraidon are both tall so they reach the branch essentially. I tried a Volcarona for instance and it didn't work. However Dragapult did work for me.

they have to be 5 or 6 star level raids (only available after main 3 stories are beaten, and post game has to be cleared for 6 star raids to appear)... and herba mystica isn't guaranteed from any of those... they are a huge pain to farm up

I did this sandwich with an applin egg in my party, and when I went to run over to the tree it hatched a shiny!!!!!!!❤❤❤ Not sure if it's dumb luck, bit I'm grateful!!! Thanks for the hack.

@TheHunt I haven't tried it with the latest patch but it worked for me no problem with the last version. I don't think they would patch it since it's not really a glitch

Incase anyone thinks or wonders if it's fixed, its not. If you don't use the sandwich koraidon or miraidon will wonder away since it's not spawning fast enough. Sometimes another pokemon will wonder and redirect them but it's good.

It doesn't have to be your extra legendary you can use the opposite legendary as well im doing it right now as I type this

How is this easier than an outbreak? It’s worse odds with only 1 Pokémon at a time. Getting an applin outbreak isn’t easy but once you have on it’s basically a guaranteed shiny

@@doberdemon you say outbreaks plural… are you not resetting them until you get a shiny? Once you get the outbreak with a shiny sandwhich it shouldn’t take longer than an hour to get the shiny

You'll have to forgive me if I somehow missed the explanation in the video, but why does it have to specifically be the legendary that you use to KO all the regular Applin? Why can't you use any other pokemon?

it doesn’t necessarily have to be the legendary, it could be any floating pokémon or just a tall pokémon, because of their height, they trigger the applin to fall down so you can easily farm them

I’m doing it now. I dash at the tree, throw miraidon out to auto battle and then quickly get to the fence behind the first tree

Found this vid by chance but got my wee apple pretty fast! Took some time to find the perfect spot to stand so my Miraidon would quit coming back every 3 or so KOs but once I got that sweet spot he didn't come back till the shiny popped.
