I really appreciate your covering the untwisting the inevitable twist that shows up during this forging.

It's a valuable skill to know! I haven't seen many people cover it on here, either. I think I learned it from Mark Aspery's book.

Thanks for the videos! They are truly great. I really like how well you explain why you do things, what are the difficulties that one might encounter, etc. Very pedagogical. Also the way you harden and temper in one go, I had read about it in a book but very briefly, and I had not understood, and thanks to your explanations now I get it. I think your KZbin channel has a lot of potential, I wish you all the best of success, and thank you very much again. Cheers from France!

That shape is really nice. Both practically and aesthetically. Looks like you could easily use it blindfolded.

Oh yeah! Mark Aspery's designs are all fantastic. 👌

Dude.. your skills are nice but you waste so much energy with the bouncing anvil, also why not forge the taper first, then the swell to match the taper?😊
@rockingeforge9 ай бұрын
You're right, but if someone comments on my anvil bouncing every video, then it's free engagement. Haha! You could start on the business end if you so chose, this is just the Mark Aspery style of punch and the steps are in the order that appear in his book.

All of my project videos that I've produced so far were filmed last year in the corner of someone else's shop with a very non-idealized setup on my part. Hopefully, in the next few months, I'll soon have my own semi-permanent shop that I can customize and really work to make everything perfect and super efficient.

@@rockingeforge dont have that book, though i keep meaning to get it. I know how I would forge it, and I would do the back, buisness end, then the index (in fact its one the next things i will forge as I need to make some hammers.)

Good luck on the hammers! That's on my list of future projects too.
