Thanks for this! I was getting frustrated with how hard it is to find details of how to add samples. The user manual leaves a lot to be desired. It looks to be a very tedious process but I'll make it work.

Its not to bad really ... Im going to try and do a new recording soon as this one wasnt that great with the audio cutting out ... Im glad its helping others. I havent played on this module in quite some time now as I moved on to the Alesis Strike. Its almost similair in the way you have to make audio work though

One of these days soon, lol, I will do a new video including one for another module

👋🏼 Do the loaded samples have sensitivity and all the other options as the stock sounds? Thanks
@greenheadband Жыл бұрын
Hey there! I think sensitivity comes first how you had the sound recorded in terms of level versus stock.... then after that basically the triggers rule the rest of the output volume depending on the velocity to the heads/cymbals... and after that the module can be set with sensitivity....

I see this works for drum sounds. Can you upload your own songs to the module as well?

You actually can make any sound you want
@Figgletonshmigelton2 жыл бұрын
Hey to give some ease on setting the voice use this method. Once you find what sound you want in the voice menu, hit the drum you want to assign it to and then save and you’re done. :))

Can you batch process samples in Audacity? I've never used it..Thanks for this video, this option was the only reason I bought this model.
@greenheadband3 жыл бұрын
Thats a great question!!! Ill be honest... since buying the Alesis Strike (i plan to do a video on this one day) i honestly will have to go through and see about batch processing. I think with audacity (and i may be amswering the question wrong) my experience with the program, while still using it for the Strike, is doing one sample at a time and i think audacity is one sample at a time.... thats ok for me though as its a simple software amd still fairly fast doing samples. What ive been doing is basically creating one folder on my computer where i place samples, loops, etc and once done, ill send it all over to the module at once.
@jmb57063 жыл бұрын
@@greenheadband Yes it's very cumbersome. I bought the command because that module and above are the only ones Alesis sells that can read samples. Oh my Lord! It's 2021, and all my samples are 24 bit like most people selling, uploading and recording them. I was left high and dry before I found your video so thanks, and I definitely appreciate you man. I had no problems midi mapping it today through my daw using my drum samples, but I need to build custom kits for when I'm in standalone. Enjoy that Strike man that kit is a beast!
@greenheadband3 жыл бұрын
Yeah loving the strike! Recently just bought a pearl set to take out on the road with as its a bit easier to set up lol. Looking forward to doing a strike tutorial... pretty similiar to how the command is set up.

Just returning back to this.... So, i have been converting a ton of songs into mp3's for awhile now where im cutting the vocal and drums out for private practice before band rehearsals and live gigs.... Songs, sounds, same process really. Only able to do them 1 by 1 to answer that question... but, what you do the first time, the settings remain the same for your subsequent stuff. Yeah it would be could if you can batch a ton of stuff at the same time but, doesnt appear to be like that on audicity. The way i do have my settings setup, say, you can choose a directory where your converted files will go to. Thats cool because, the files i want to convert is placed in a totally seperate folder. When i export yhe new file, im actually flying through the process as i dont have to keep pointing to a new folder. When im done with my sounds, i simply copy and paste them to my thumb drive and put them in my module. The module is the combersome part of it... its only easier when your on higher end modules versus the command module. Easier on the strike through. After i finish my thumb drive transfer, i do like to keep my files if i need them later. So those files are cut/pasted into a new directory under a subfolder name i choose, like, metal band sounds, or, phil collin drums.. something like that. Good luck!

After loading about 8 small samples into the command module I receive message, "Memory Full" Prior to this I did a factory reset. The files are so small why is the memory full after just loading 8 samples?
@greenheadband2 жыл бұрын
Yeah there isnt a whole lot of space in these modules. Check your current samples as you may need to remove some to clear some space. Or check the file sizes that your putting in. Maybe reduce the bitrate

So if my module says “unsupported files” when I click on the sample on my module does that mean it’s not a wav file? Even if it says wav on properties or is it something else?

@@greenheadband I think I understand, it's the reason I was searching for videos about uploading samples. It seems that the hi-hat uploads don't work. I cannot seem to get HH-closed and HH-open both to upload. If I get one, then the other reverts to something factory. I am guessing the OP has the same issue. Have you been able to upload your own samples to all the HH voices in a custom kit {open, closed, pedal}? Thanks!

I'm sorry to respond just now.... I have been so busy with band now a days, plus on pearl acoustic drums and I look at you question now and then... honestly I have not messed with that module since 2020 and have strike now... been promising to run tutorial but basically kind of same way. You simply need to swap stereo to mono, otherwise will sound funny.
