I always just assumed Phil Heath was a bit of a villain because of how he was commonly regarded, it's really refreshing to see him sit down and have a deep, long-form conversation with someone who asks good questions. Excellent work once again, Chris.

Love the "multiply by zero" conversation. So much wisdom in knowing when to say "no". Doesn't get talked about enough because we're a "yes" culture, but saying "no" to one thing is saying "yes" to something else.

I agree, but there’s a weird paradigm at play. No one gets to the level of success that Phil attained without working hard..... But he’s known as The Gift for several reasons. One being how well his body responds to training and gear. Phil famously had to work out less hard than other competitors. He could go off season for a period, then go on cycle for a couple months and just explode with muscle, way easier than most people can

Hes achieved a lot in his life. Hes got extreme levels of confidence and self belief. He talks like a champion of bodybuilding. Hes smart articulate as well. U cant expect a person like this to fit or to influence others opinion. So people can feel that he comes across as agressive but , Honestly i feel phil doesnt get enough credit for what hes achieved. People need to stop nit picking on the way he speaks or portrays himself and just need to learn from this champion life. Concentrate on the things hes done, and u will be inspired. I wish him a great life. Go Phil ❤

I have a new appreciation for Phil Heath after watching this. I guess I never realized what an intelligent, introspective human being he really is. His story is both tragic and uplifting. The tragedy is that he wasn’t allowed to just enjoy his success without all the negativity manufactured by people who didn’t even know him. The uplifting part of it all is the inner strength he possesses that allowed him to focus, and refocus, and channel all his energy into manifesting and creating his own destiny. I have been a fan of bodybuilding since the 1980s and I admit I was never fully invested in Phil’s reign. There is no disputing his greatness as a champion bodybuilder but now I do t think anyone can question his greatness as a human. I am thankful that I had the experience of watching this and hearing his stories. Good stuff!

Man i absolutely Loved this podcast... i think i better not say that i'm a fan of phil heath, but a follower. in the last moments of podcast when he said about making a legacy, i'm just gonna say that, you've already done it phil heath... you've changed my life because you changed my mentality and mindset towards competing, believing in my self , and knowing my self more than anything else to be able to beat my self. i just wish you get what you want from life like most the times you did, i hope to see more of you on instagram or youtube.

Love this type of stuff!! Who would have expected this to go so deep? Not only is this guy on another level in terms of work ethic and champion's mindset, he is also very honest and really understands how limiting beliefs can hold all of us back and he explains how to overcome them.... If you want to do your friends a big favor, share this with all of them! Great interview, thanks for loading up! 💪👍

What a great conversation. I never realized the intention behind Phil's outlook from exercise to life. This is why Phil is 7x Mr O winner. Also gotta respect Kai Greene for being the only person to call Phil after his defeat, and basically saying something correctly, No one beat the Phil Heath he knew and battled against. no one.

This was kind of a breakthrough interview for me. It’s the first time that I’ve ever found Heath to be relatable, probably because he didn’t seem angry, something that always seems to be simmering just beneath the surface with him. This time he seemed honest and sincere without that rough edge that made him difficult to watch. And by rough edge I mean that prior to this he always seemed very defensive when asked any question at all, as if he was afraid that everyone was out to get him. As for the interview, I thought the questions were interesting and about the things that bodybuilders want to hear, and I thought his answers were honest and sincere. He finally came across as a regular guy, something that I think will endear him to bodybuilding fans like me. Reply

Phil is a legend, always will be. He is a once in a multiple generation bodybuilder that's extremely gifted, and not just on stage, or the gym. Phil set a standard so high, especially in 2012 and 2013 that will not be matched by any of the best pros now or the up and coming guys for many years yet. That guy hasn't started competing yet, he's probably not born yet. Those guys come around every decade or so. Just look at the history of the sport. Phil is great and he's one of the greatest ever.

Loved this one as much as most of your podcasts, Chris. We definitely see the quality of the production, where you even make a different intro in your ads for each video which is very seamless. One minor thing to improve (to make it perfect) is that the camera on Phil was a bit wobbly at the begining. Other than that, totally nailing it lately, man.
