Thank you! that is so generous to show us how to frame our work! It is a beautiful work... I only wonder where to find your "old" tools! - or if they exist today but not in plastic - haha

Thank you! The old mount cutter may not still be available although it's worth checking online places for second hand. There are many mount cutters on the market thought that will probably do as good if not better a job.

It looks beautiful Emma, and really encouraging to see how we can offer the complete service to our customers. Would you consider any advice on shipping framed works in the future please? Thank you! 🤗😊

This looks great! I'm wondering - do you get any pastel falling onto the mat when you don't have a space...? How do you prevent the hammering on the back causing pastel to fall off, I heard that was a problem. I have a bunch of frames I could do this to if I don't need spacers etc. Thank so much for the video..!

The hammering is sometimes a problem which is why I have a tool for that but couldn't find it. There are certain papers I wouldn't do it to. Pastelmat however which this piece is on, it pretty secure. Ideally with Velour paper for example, I'd want to have a space and be more careful when working on the back of the frame.

Emma,l know you have an antique mount cutter,but can you recommend a modern model.l am considering buying one.thank you.

To be honest I have never used a modern one haha. So I can't honestly recommend one. The technology is pretty basic though even in a modern one for home use. Not sure where you're from but Jackson's art have some www.jacksonsart.com/search/?q=mount%2B%2Bcutter&___store=jacksonsart_en&acc=087408522c31eeb1f982bc0eaf81d35f

Thank you! How do you frame your paintings on Velour paper when it’s mounted on a foam board with mat? I didn’t find the video. But it should be thick for frame.
@EmmaColbertArt Жыл бұрын
Yes I always need a deeper rebate on the frame to allow this. Many frames have this though as they're often used for framing canvas. In this case I could frame it more flat because it's on Pastelmat. But no I wouldn't do that for Velour.

what kind of pliers is that you are using to remove the nails in the back? I've bought a lot of old frame but sometimes am unable to remove the back.
@EmmaColbertArt11 ай бұрын
Think I bought the pliers many years ago in a hardware store. No idea what they're called. Look for a pair with a good fine tip so you can grip small things. But to be honest sometimes you'll find me using a spoon or knife from the kitchen to do things!

So funny! I grew up using the decimal system now I live in a country that uses the metric system and I find myself thinking in both ways and I drive myself and others crazy because of it.🤣🤣

Where did you buy the mount board from please
@EmmaColbertArt Жыл бұрын
I think it was from Jackson's Art online. Depends where you are whether that will be your best option.
