Probably 12-14 years ago, straight out of high school I would watch your videos trying to learn something new, while I worked for my brother as a general contractor, we literally did anything construction related and your channel was always my go to in preparation for a project, since you always seemed to have everything I was looking for. You’re an amazing instructor and wanted to thank you for such amazing content and for everything you taught me throughout the many years.

This channel is the best for learning all kinds of DIY projects. From watching your videos I've gained so much knowledge and confidence in my own projects and can actually enjoy them instead of making countless novice mistakes. Keep them coming!

I'm waiting for it to appear in a cooking video. " You can cut and fold dough with it. It's good for stirring around some eggs (if you happen to be on a jobsite, maybe remote, where you don't have access to a proper kitchen or whatever). It works also as an eating utensil, so when you're done you can just eat right off of it and save on the cleanup. It comes in handy for opening cans and beverage containers. I sharpened mine in the corner a little bit so I can peel chunks off of a potato for fries..."

Were you able to remove the temporary nails in the bottom plate before you stood the wall up?
@HouseImprovements3 ай бұрын
Yes, and if you dont they will pull out while standing anyways.

Why ICF but normal osb sheathing and not Zip sheathing or zipR stuff?
@HouseImprovements3 ай бұрын
ICF for insulation purposes,Almost all basements are ICF here now. OSB for cost savings. OSB is very common here and Zip is not.
@FlyingNDriving3 ай бұрын
@@HouseImprovements figured your go for a nice air sealing/insulting sheathing since you made such a nice header with the foam also. I didn't know how common zip was up north there compared to the states(seems almost the majority now)

16" o/c? Inspectors here in 'Berta fail us for that due to insufficient R-value. They insist on 24" o/c. (24 being the max structurally and the min thermally)
@FishyCanada3 ай бұрын
@georgedavall9449 says Albertans are losers for this. I suspected 24" was better but who knows.
@HouseImprovements3 ай бұрын
Not here , but I am also adding rigid insulation over the exterior plywood to help with cold/heat transfer.
@FishyCanada3 ай бұрын
Why 16"oc when you can go 24"oc?
@georgedavall94493 ай бұрын
Losers do 24”. Seriously, 16” is standard. You’d only do 24” on non load bearing walls, ok Skippy?
@FishyCanada3 ай бұрын
@@georgedavall9449 so what ur saying is you do 24"oc?
@georgedavall94493 ай бұрын
@@FishyCanada its hopeless for you fool
@HouseImprovements3 ай бұрын
Houses around here are 16" OC. Interior framing /non load bearing is generally 24". I have built a few garages 24" OC however.
