great footage cuz what's your secret with the hooker sea lions .Otago coast seems to have more than there fair share. and although I haven't been bitten they have a tendency to chew my fins.bit unnerving
@kaidownunder7870 Жыл бұрын
Can't say I've come across many to be fair bro. Usually only come across females who are pretty chill, they usually just glide around beside me but some times can be protective of their pups. Yea I bet that gets on the anxiety levels if they're having a go at the fins😅😂

In these dives what's the sort of recommendation on breath holds like how long should you learn to be able to hold your breath for going for crays etc ?
@kaidownunder7870 Жыл бұрын
Churr bro, first thing I would say about that is always dive to your own limits and never try to dive to someone else's. Obviously the longer you can hold you're breath the better but really it depends on how deep the crays are and whether you can equalise your ears and handle the pressure the deeper you go. If the crays are in 2mtrs of water you won't need as big of a breath hold, and if they're deeper you'll need a bigger one🙂 just try to stay relaxed and move slowly, you use less oxygen this way and it doesn't convert to CO2 which triggers the urge to breathe
@mattharrington2297 Жыл бұрын
@KaiDownUnder thanks for the advice. I can't wait to get in the water

@kaidownunder78702 жыл бұрын
Within reason bro yes, I mean if you're diving in an area that has high dive traffic, the chances are less likely that you're going to find crayfish in shallower water because they've most likely been cleaned out, crayfish can even be in 1 metre depth if you put yourself in the right spot. Don't push your depth if you're not ready bro, but always strive to keep working on it in small steps😄 dive safe brother
