Yeah other videos are wrong haha... But really the secret to being successful with freestyling fast is first forcing yourself to go for a minute without rhyming.... Once you can do that then your flow muscle will be strong, you'll be confident knowing that you don't have to rhyme every line to rap, and you'll be able to naturally throw in rhymes a lot easier.

Thank you for the advice in this video I'll use these golden rules as soon as possible, I'm very good at writing bars and rhymes but not very good at freestyling and having a good flow! When I freestyle I'm always under pressure trying to think or some rhymes and can only get a sentence or two with some good bars and then I just mess up then also my flow isn't very good but I'm working on it and I'll get better over time with these rules you explained in the video thank you very much!

This applies to writing too. I've written a lot of good verses with the rhyming mentality. But I've also written quite a few forced sounding verses with it. If I stick with trying to rhyme too much at first I notice I'll use a lot of the same words and themes. Guess it's time to separate the writing from the editing. Brilliant idea. 💡💡💡

I should add, don’t worry about how many words per a bar when starting out either. I would recommend starting slowly. Like don’t worry about trying to rap fast right now either. Most important is being able to deliver each word confidently and clearly with great enunciation. Once you’ve mastered rapping clearly and confidently slowly, then you can speed it up and add more words per a bar until you find you’re jumbling words together. If you find you are jumbling words together, best to slow down and make sure each word is easily understood. Again, it will be way easier if you master freestyling slowly first.

These are great tips. I've been Freestyling for a few years now and I'm respected for it, and when I was asked to demonstrate for elementary kids who wanted to learn, I had a hunch that starting out without rhyming, making it more conversational, would help them become more confident. Gotta give you credit though, cuz your video confirmed my theory, and now the kids I worked with have much more confidence, so thank you so much for this video. Much respect.

No, be confident in whatever language you are fluent in Trust that you already have enough vocabulary before seeking more I would make sure you can finish at least 5 songs or a mixtape with your current vocabulary before worrying about expanding it Your songs should be in your voice And similar to the words you use while speaking While writing songs you may even naturally expand your vocabulary by looking for a word that rhymes Or a new word that means something you're trying to say Also, I would make sure you can already freestyle for a minute without rhyming before trying to expand Usually thinking you need to expand your vocabulary is an insecurity and excuse to not start rapping or writing songs So the best thing you can do is trust you got it all right now and go for it No excuses You go it

scarfaccio try to make your voice relate to the words. If you have a funny punch line, give it a joking tone. If you’re trying to sound scary and vaguely menacing, sometimes a monotone is ok (listen to revenge by Joyner Lucas, it’s a good example) because it can sound almost threatening. If you’re going off on someone and dissing them, try to start joking, almost laughing, and work your way up to almost a shout (the main character of “Bodied” does this a lot). If it’s something emotional or sad, go for something almost melodic. Experiment. Flow. Dominate. You got this 👍🏼

+Grace Natalie its better to freestyle off the top of your head completely in the moment but its okay to start with one written line and go off from that. The only thing is you are not going to be able to go off from that one line if you don't already know how to freestyle and improvise so learn how to freestyle first. Make sure you can freestyle for at least one minute easily before jumping in the cypher.

Whatever your native language is, you should have limitless things to freestyle about with the words you already know. Thinking you don't have enough words in your vocabulary is just an excuse for being scared to try freestyling. So no, don't worry about the dictionary and trust that you already have all the vocabulary you need in your head already.

Hey did you get it down yet? Yes, it is hard to not rhyme because that's are natural urge. Once you can go for a minute without rhyming though, then it will feel a lot easier and more natural to throw in rhymes. But remember, even if you feel like you mess up, just keep going for a minute even if you have to make up words or sounds. This will build your flow muscle a lot and you'll have the experience of knowing you don't need to rhyme every single line to rap.

Sorry man, not gonna lie, don't like this advice, I can only really agree with don't stop if you mess up, otherwise I feel that you should always include rhymes at some point in the line or every second or even third line if you can pull it off

Haha yeah most people don't like the no rhyming at first part but it works a lot faster this way. Not sure if you watched the whole video. Rhyming is the ultimate goal of course but if a person isn't comfortable flowing first then it can be very difficult and not feel as natural to rhyme.. The problem is most people start out trying to rhyme and then give up when they can't come up with rhymes fast enough However if you start flowing without worrying about rhyming then you can start getting the experience of flowing a lot faster which makes rhyming ten times easier and more natural Most people are afraid to freestyle out loud in front of people for the first time So not worrying about rhyming relieves a lot of the pressure and helps build the flow muscle of just going off the top and gaining confidence that way Once that flow muscle is there which only takes a few minutes Then rhyming is a piece of cake and you can go forever Most people teach it wrong but yeah rhyming is da goal

Yeah that’s great. How you deliver when rapping out loud is most important. Like does it flow well? Are you able to speak each word clearly without jumbling words together? Those are questions you can ask yourself when recording your freestyles with a voice memo app on your phone for practice.
