Any tips for doing this with curly hair that doesn't really separate into strands without yanking it with both hands and all the thoughts and prayers in the world? That's the issue I run into, I need both hands to separate new strands and lose track of the old ones.

I was thinking the exact same thing! Especially when it has over 1 million views! I have watched so many many of these. And tonight you just made the whole thing makes sense in my brain and it looks beautiful. I had really given up hope a few years ago of ever being able to do this. My daughter French braided her own hair last night so I was inspired to try once again and then I found your video. Thank you for giving me a new style to do finally! I am 24 years old and have never in my life successfully French braided my hair. I have looked up tutorials before but I could never wrap my brain around how to hold the sections and keep them organized. Today I found this video and on my first attempt after watching it I have successfully French braided my hair!!! I'm absolutely thrilled! OMG THIS WAS THE BEST TUTORIAL I FIGURED IT OUT FIRST TRY AND IT LOOKED LIKE IVE BEEN DOING IT FOR YEARS! I wrote down “section hair the split into three then right to middle left to middle all strands in left section more in right right to middle all strands to right hand section more right then right to middle” repeated the process then braided normally for the rest I am so glad that I can now do this!

Practice on friends or dolls. I use to practice bracing and other hairstyles on my barbies but the only problem is I can’t do them on myself lmao. One of the problems also is that my hair gets tangled easily like by putting it in a ponytail.

I had long hair until about 2006, then I was working in a place that did not have air-conditioning in the summertime, I had to cut my hair short. But when it was long, I would put it in a ponytail and braid that. Now that I'm retired and growing my hair out again, I'll be using this technique. Thank you for posting this.

It doesn't make a difference what color your hair is, it will be noticeable and beautiful! My hair is brown but it looks black when it's not in the light. Dark hair looks beautiful in a French or Dutch braid. Give it try!😊

Lmao my frizzy hair can never. I can't separate any strands cause it's too curly and my hair is everywhere.

Thank you so much!! I've been trying to make a french braid for years already, watching tons of tutorials. And, finally, I found yours, and after watching, it took me ONE time to manage the freanch braiding. WOW, I was extremely happy

Oh my God!! I DID IT! I DID IT!!! I've never been able to do it, and always mess up the stands during the transition from one hand to the other but I did as you explained and I think I did a good enough job! Tysm!!!♥️

I have never been able to do a french braid, but after watching this tutorial, I have managed to do one on my second attempt. Doesn’t look as good as in the tutorial, but I'm happy with it.
