bret, my wife went from having no butt at all, to having a lovely one, thanks to you. we think your content is some of very the best mix of science and silly (i mean that not as a dismissal, but as a huge compliment in terms of you being as good natured as you are informed) that anyone would be incredibly fortunate to encounter. as a side note, she hasn't liked frog pumps because they hurt her feet, but after this video she's doing them (right now) maniacally. thank you so much for helping people everywhere. you're fantastic, keep on keeping on :)

I never got into frog pumps because.. idk didn't seem necessary. But if Bret says I should try them, I WILL TRY THEM. I actually tried some bodyweight ones just now (already had a lower body day). And yes. I am one of the lucky people that it works for. Like, it WORKS, as in oww my bum-bum.

I started doing glute exercises about 20 years ago due to a chronic hip injury. It was either getting my glutes as strong as possible or go into surgery. By now they are pretty massive and I´ve incorporated the Frog Pump into my routine. They have proven to be the best exercise for rehabilitating my hip!

I'm a bikini competitor, and my coach has me doing these 3 times a week. We play around and do low reps/high weight as well as low rest, sets of 100 with bodyweight. These burn and have been a game changer for my physique.

This is exactly what I've been looking for. A single move that will target my glute max, medius, and minimus. My issue is a weak glute medius and minimus. Now i've been doing weighted from pumps with my barbell at home

I love frog pumps! Thank you for inventing them! They are genius! I also love hip thrusts, as well, and glute bridges for the upper glutes. Any exercise you recommend for the upper glutes? I feel that’s a more difficult area to develop. Most helpful glute building videos out there by far!

We live in a world where aspiring trainers are bashing exercises without trying them and saying they are just outright "dangerous and causes injury" to everybody. I didnt feel frog pump for quite some time, but some do. I wish new upcoming trainers without any experience training clients would stop this hate and would be more open minded to the nuances of training. Great video as always.

I never felt anything from frog pumps but after watching, I think my legs/knees were out too wide and I wasn't doing near enough. Going to try them again today :) thanks Bret!

The back pain I am experiencing is actually insane, can´t sit, work, think or concentrate for more than 2 years now. I am having some pain since I am a child, but it just kept getting worse the older I got, surgeries, physical therapists, doctors I can´t even count it out anymore my story is horrible, but no one really could help, I eventually just stopped relying on others and read more and more about back pain. I definitely felt a lack of glute activation in my case. So for a year I have beeen following you now, doing a ton of glute exercises, lunges like every day, hip thrusts, hip abductions and so many more gluteus medius exercises. Weirdly sometimes my pain got better but often also worse, even with the barbell hip thrusts I just wasn´t able to properly squeeze my butt. Now I have been noticing that I have big issues with activating the inner part of my glutes and stabilizing my lumbar spine kind of (don´t know how to specify that). Specifically targeting the inner glutes seem to be the key thing for me! Frog pump do that for me but also some other exercises. With the frog pumps the inner part of my glutes seem to have tension from the beginning which is awesome and helps me a lot. Definitely team love frog pumps! I am actually very much able to abduct my hips, I always could, so my anatomy definitely seems to play a big role here. why I have pain in the first place. Very grateful to have found this exercise, hopefully my back is able to recover completely and I can finally workout again. Just wanted to leave you a big thank you for putting out your knowledge online, so people can educate themselves.

Absolutely love the frog pump. Bret had them in my workout and the glute pump i get is unreal. I use 90lbd db n rep out to 80 reps...its literally the bomb. In fact im doing them shortly in my workout at the gym. Thanks Bret you rock

Love your glute advise, now I came across your frog pumps. Short story after suffering a bad head injury I was told by my surgeon I should not do any weight pumps or leg or Amy kind of glut work out push or lift for at least a year. I looked in the mirror and I was agast had to wake my gluts. After 2 year of mummified looking ass. Before I saw your famous frog pumps. I decided to follow your lessons The Venus fly trap I started with a ball and one dumb bell and a mat, a step up. Now I have a Venus fly trap and studied the way it closes and shuts closing and imprisoning it victims as close and tight as possible for lo g periods.. so got an idea thus I began to mimick the plant . So experimented with thrusts up opening at mid thrust and holding position mean while squeezing my glutes and holding stance for a few seconds. Then as I lowered my hips I closed my legs with feet pointing in ward. I could feel the outside of my glutes contract The then 2nd I would turn my toes out but kept my heels touching as I thrust up now this time I felt the contract at inner part lower part of glut. Wow.. I experimented with sets 3 x25 to begin with and no belt. Next day my ass was sore but it was great.now I'm a 60 year old grandmother and you being a professional, you know that it takes Double effort ( it depends how mummified and sagging our asses become. I fatigue alot due to hypo thyroid. But let me tell you , your classes have helped me to understand the anatomy of my ass I have seen a growth and my asx no longer looks flat or deflated. Thank you so much in explaining the difference in the hips bones and how and what works differently between women the male hip bone. Your glut work outs lesson have made a loyal fan of yours Thank you sir Venus fly trap

Looking to develop my lower half due to recovering from a left knee meniscus Transplant, then due to compensation, FAI, CAM LESION AND TORN LABRUM (R- HIP) had prp injected getting stronger and better each and every day. Thanks for these tips! I thought I was one of these people who can only feel them in my adductors! I have really flexible hips and turns out it’s because I do these with my knees so spreaded out close to the floor and that is why I don’t feel them as much on my glutes. I can feel them now after adjusting the degree I open my hips for these! Also I only start to feel the pump after doing 30+ reps which is another one of my mistakes doing about 12-15 reps previously! The only issue I have now is find a way to balance my weight on both my left and right glutes as I feel more on my right than my left, same with the 45 degrees rounded back hypers . .

i hated frog pump and bridges i told the gym trainer i don't feel anything Fast forward Covid hit and had to exercise at my house I really could not believe my butt. I have a butt because of my genes but i got a little lift and was surprised. But i did a specifically workout for but for a whole month 3 days a week. It works. Great video

These have been really fantastic. I’m in PT for posterior and lateral pelvic tilt, as well as flat spine base with early arthritis. The frog pump is a challenge in my glutes without the pain in my hips/pelvis. Squats, hydrants, and just standing causes pain but this is a mix of relieving stretching and working my buns (which are badly needed to be built up!). So thank you Dr. Contreras!!!

Yayy this is going to change my training game. Regular glute bridges never seemed to work with my anatomy, I always wanted to rotate my hips out. I never feel much unless my hips are rotated out, and I FEEL THESE they are fire. Thanks for sharing!

Glad you addressed the safety concerns. I've used them with clients in the past but generally relegate exercises that have the potential for injury especially with the specific population I mostly work with. I guess the criticism has simply been an example of "haters gonna hate".
