I've been following Bret's career since the fauxhawk, t-nation, couch thrusting, oversized kettlebell, Grill the Guru days. I've added countless hints and tips to my exercise regime over the years thanks to Bret's quality (free) content. He's a scientist at heart who practices and evolves what he preaches. The pricing strategies he uses for his content is average-joe reasonable. I recommend his channel and products to anyone who wants a quality experience while navigating their fitness journey. Much respect Bret, thanks for everything. Make the world strong(er).

This is AWESOME! I’ve been working on losing fat and I remember you had said before, “the stronger you get, the smaller you will be” so that’s what I’ve been focusing on. I truly love the basic lifts most of all so I’m excited to add in these other 3 to see where it takes me. Will definitely be looking into this program.

Listening to this I am at minute 4 and couldn't help but commenting about women's different phases through the cycle when Bret talks about days his client "was feeling stronger" or the opposite... I think it's important that trainers who work with women understand the different phases of the cycle and the ability of the female body to build muscle and recover from workouts, as well as handle inflammation, stress, etc.
@bretcontreras12 жыл бұрын
I could tell you what the research says on phases of menstrual cycle and strength and then I could tell you about each of my clients individually and when they’re weakest and strongest - this is something you’d can’t learn from the literature…you have to ask clients and pay attention to how their cycle impacts their performance (it’s all over the place). But this is just one (albeit important) factor that impacts their performance, along with fatigue, stress, nutrition, etc.

I remember you being on the Oxygen mag forum years ago! We had a thread at the time about glutes that I had started. At a time when squats were king you were preaching hip thrusts, glute bridges and yes even donkey kickbacks. I had started doing glute specific exercises and seeing results and I was getting a lot of flack on wasting my time! Now look at you! I've followed you for many years because of that thread. Keep it up, love your videos! Happy New year! Ps. You have always reminded me of my brother, weird I know lol!

I can't wait to do the certification. We held an imitation strong lifting meet this fall in my little part of the world (Montréal Québec). We had 6 women and it was such an amazing day. It was hard to get people to come out but I plan on having another one next fall. Definitely will do the certification. Thank you Bret. You have sometimes special here. This is a dream come true!!! I was thinking of competing in my first powerlifting meet this year but I’m a physique competitor and didn’t want to commit to focusing so much on strength in the big 3 (while neglecting some significant bodybuilding areas), I love chin ups and hip thrusts but have never maxed them out. This is PERFECT!

I just started following you about six months ago. I am so glad that I did. I am 59 years old I am twice certified certified trainer. But I have so many injuries from overuse that my muscle weight has gone way down. My strength has gone down as a result. I think this strong lifting would be an answer for me, but I wish there was a way to do it without going to the gym. If not I totally understand why, of course , but perhaps there would be some type of offshoot of this program that could produce maybe close to the results. In the meantime I will keep watching you, and try and apply as much of your intelligent and proven results information as I can. Thanks again for all of your hard work and dedication.

I do strong lifting. I've worked my way up to being able to squat 165 lbs and I weight 137 lbs 5'5. I love doing it and deadlifting and I've seen do much difference in my body from when I first started. Recently though about a week and a half ago I injured my lower back because on my last set I tried to put 10 lbs more to hit a PR. I'm so sad because I usually start my leg days with squats and deadlifts but for the past week I've only been able to do lunges, back lunges, step ups, and other little machines but I can't do any of the compound lifts I usually love doing :(

After my cut I definitely want to work with one of your online group or customized programs to recomp. However, I don’t want to build my chest. This is so inspiring! I started lifting heavier and in one week I already noticed the difference as I wanted to be smaller not bigger. I must have watched that one video you did about recomp 20x! It finally sinked in …. the stronger you are the smaller and more compact/less body fat you have. I thought I knew this but was doing the opposite and felt stuck. I love ❤️ these videos!!! Please keep making more about this topic and your glute squad!
