Nice work thanks for posting, some guys I see doing this kind of wk on Utube break the spot weld drill bits too. The general consensus seems to be buy the better quality ones, the harbour freight ones are junk. Good luck.

Thank you very much! These bits were from an automotive shop where i buy all my tools from. They still break.

That is because people don’t know how to use them. I only learned when I was almost finished taking off one piece behind the seats of my 914. The trick is to just let the cutter “kiss” the metal. You don’t push it. After just a little bit a ring will form. See how hard this guy pushes? I didn’t break any more after I learned to use them. I work at Harbor Freight and have found that many of our customers are our biggest enemies. One day two men brought back floor jacks which they claimed didn’t stay up. They didn’t realize the pole had to be turned clockwise. Another day two clowns brought back bottle jacks that wouldn’t stay up. They didn’t know the little screw had to be turned. They drive me crazy. They want to buy the cheapest thing then complain because it doesn’t last because of the way they use it. Speaking of floor jacks, a shopper told me our 3-ton Pittsburgh jacks only lasted him a month so he started buying $1,000 jacks. I asked him what he used jacks for. “Eighteen wheelers,” he replied. Obviously, he was somewhat suicidal if he would put a $90 jack under such a load.

A "manual transmission pedal"? lol - more commonly known as a clutch pedal. You're going to end up with a nice driver when you're finished.
