Re: ink sticking, for layers you sandwich between other bags, where the design isn’t needed in the final product, would turning the bags inside out help?

If you have a Costco Business Center near you, they sell boxes of full sheet-size Parchment paper.

Is this safe? Does the plastic release any fumes when heated?

As long as you keep the heat low- It fuses at a surprisingly low temperature. If there's toxic smoke the temperature is too high lol.
