@@driesketels It made me feel on top of the world! I've won at miniature golf for having the right number at the end of my driver's license - many times. But never something as valuable as fine art, much less so carefully packaged and shipped across The Pond. All that stuff adds up to a lot of investment on her part and value to me. I'm planning to move back to Texas soon, so very much plan to hang it in my new home in a wonderful place. It's a seaside scene of Scottish heather and sun- & sea-bleached rocks, so there's very much a sense of place. Not sure if I'm Scottish, but I know I'm of Irish ancestry and blood mixes a lot between those two countries, so it means something to me in that way, also. In addition, it's done in purple, green and blue, which are the colors of water and I'm a Pisces, so I love it all the more. As a serial entrepreneur, I've given away loads over the years, so it doesn't feel like a cheap marketing ploy to me. This particular item is very personal, almost like it was made for me, and it came at a time in my life (planning a move) that makes it special. I wanted it before I knew what it was, beyond "a piece from her collection". I am over the moon happy over this work of art. I don't know what else to say. Bright blessings.

There was a topic something like this on a group page I follow. I told them that I follow other artists and people on Instagram and when they post something I read it and sometimes I comment on their post. Now the thing is I'll hear crickets chirping before I get a reply from 99% of the people (in other words they don't reply). They want people to follow them and like their art or post but, they don't do anything to keep people. Me on the other hand I'll reply and I don't get people to follow me LOL I think they just don't like an old abstract artist and I think my prices scare them off. Sorry but like everyone else I don't work for free. I only make a couple of paintings a month sometimes 3 or 4 depending on the size. I also know I'm not how do you put it? Interesting in my videos. Hey I'm an old guy I just tell you about my painting and whatever else I talk about. LOL

I hate mutual subscriptions. This is a dead audience. I subscribe only to those who are really interesting to me. I remember one obsessive artist who did this. When I signed back, she disappeared. Then I unfollowed her, she again came to me and began to write comments and likes, write messages. There was so much that I just blocked it😄

I like the ideas you put out Dries Ketels, but your delivery drags out too much. Here is the point of this video: Find Instagram art accounts with a similar or desired audience for you, go into the profiles that engage with those art accounts and engage with those accounts by liking, commenting and/or following them. This really works but make sure to be careful and avoid accounts that are inactive or don't follow a lot of people because they are less likely to follow you back and engage with you. Also be careful and don't do this too much or else instagram will shadow ban you. Here is another helpful tip not included in this video: Go to art hashtags and start liking/commenting on those recent posts. I found a lot of success with this method! Just don't do too many a day, I think the limit is 200 likes per day and if you do it too fast then instagram will temporarily disable your ability to engage. Also the infamous follow for follow method works but do your research to make sure you don't go over board and get shadow banned. Good luck to everyone! Also try tiktok because that is working better for engagement, however it is more effort to produce good content
