Hi , my gas gas 85 mc (same pwk Keihin carburetor as the KTM) is running very rich, masssive amounts of spooge out the silencer, I use it mainly for enduro at over 2000 meter elevation and temperature at around 25 c , im using a main jet 138 ,40 idle jet and dropped the needle to the very first clip to lean it out, and still the spooge is too much, im running motorex cross power at 65:1, been thinking to use a 32 idle jet, but don't know if it would lean the bike out way too much, any thoughts?

I highly doubt 4hp on the 85, I’d love to see an independent dyno test, better off porting the stock carb for $80

I never had a problem getting around on any bike(pw80,xr100,lt80) when I was younger except on a trx70. So a machine with 10 hp more than those I rode, needs more? Heck, it has half the hp of a 125! I understand if your kid is running the non limited 65cc class at lorettas.

why not is the answer, I did this for my sons 65 just for the fun of it, his bike gains a few HP and I get to wrench on bikes with my son and teach him what a carb is and what it does, my boy is interested so why not buy 3-5 little mods at a time and spend an hour in the shop working on bikes together, in the end his bike was improved and we spent some quality time together having fun.

I haven't been involved in motorcycles very long (only 47 years) but I have worked with my share of 65/85 riders. The stock carb is junk and this is a huge improvement.
