I started my lash course in January and got certified and was only practicing on a guide provided to me from class. It didn’t really help, it was nothing compared to lashing on a actual person. I didn’t start taking models until March 💀At first it took me 3 hours for a full classic set and I thought that was terrible timing. Now it takes me 2 hours and 30mins! There were times when I felt like crying and quitting but I’m not giving up😤

I've been wanting to do eyelashes and brows every since high-school and I graduated 7 years ago. I never knew where to start and wasted so much time. I just finally ordered my first practice kit now and waiting for it to get here. I am so nervous of how bad I'm gonna do in this practice stage alone. I'm so glad I came across your channel. You have given me the confidence I need. I will be watching your videos as motivation from now on. Thank you so much for your beginner tips.
@cindyaleman53882 жыл бұрын
I hope you read this. I'm a beginner. I've just moved from practicing on my models and now I'm tensioning to taking in more family and friends for a small fee and on Thursday I was doing a classic full set. 4 hours went by and I didn't get to finish because my friend had to go. She was understanding of the fact that I wasn't able to finish but she had to go. I was so down. I cried that whole afternoon because I felt like a failure. Listening to you let's me know I'm going just fine and I'm fortunate to have people that support me and are patient with me. My friend came back the next day and she loved her set! But thank you really thank you!
@YoyisLashBeauty2 жыл бұрын
Hey hun. Those feelings are perfectly normal for beginners. Your not the only one who is going through it or has been through it. I went through the same feelings of feeling like a failure. It's part of the process. But don't let those feeling of not knowing what to do or your not fast enough or not finishing a set make you feel like you'll never be good enough. Remember if I can get past that part of my journey so can you! But it takes lots and lots of time and practice to get good. Trust me when I tell you it'll get easier. But trust yourself and your journey and let yourself make those mistakes. Take your time and don't rush your work because rushed work is not good work. If I can go from taking 12 hours my first classic set to taking 1.5 hours to do a full set now then so can you. But it's ok to struggle. Just don't let those negative feelings get the best of you. Being a beginner in anything is not easy but it takes time, patience and lots and lots of work to get better. So hang in there hun 😘

thank you for the tips they're very helpful. Im thinking of going into lashing but my quiet nature has been the issue and i'm not used to small talks. I feel like clients will come back despite your mistakes but not your personality.
@YoyisLashBeauty2 жыл бұрын
You don't need to be outgoing to get clientele. There are clients who prefer a no talk appointment. But they do have to feel comfortable around you to keep coming back. Some clients won't come back even for a tiny little mistake and I know this from experience, some clients are way too picky and if they didn't feel like you made an impact on them they definitely won't come back. And from experience the thing that has kept my clients coming back is my personality and effort to make a friend out of them. Ive confirmed this with all of them. Some clients won't be picky in any way and just like your chill vibes and that's what will keep them coming back. Don't feel discouraged thinking because your quiet you won't be able to get clients. Don't let that stop you. I used to be so shy when I first started lashing and I've learned to come out of my shell and just be me. If this is something you want to do, you will figure out that being your true self is the best way to go about it. Good luck hun.

What would be considered "too long"? New clients, depending on their lashes, i can take anywhere between 2-4 hours. Fills can take about 2 hours- that includes photos and talking lol
@YoyisLashBeauty2 жыл бұрын
Well I can't say too long because if your a beginner the there is no time frame. You just gotta get in there. But if your taking clients no more than 5 hours. 4 hours I still prefect timing and 2 hour fills are the best because your ensuring your client is full full. Normally I give myself 3-4 hours for full set and 2 hours for a fill so your doing perfect timing ❤️

Hi Yoyis , love your videos 😍 Question... Should i do a patch test to my new clients? Im a lil nervous if they will have an allergy reaction? Thanks 😊
@YoyisLashBeauty2 жыл бұрын
I would only doing if you feel like it is necessary. I recommend with doing the consultation first and during the consultation you'll ask questions if they're sensitive if they have severe allergies if they take certain kinds of medication the consultation is for you to find out is lash extensions is a good service for them or not. A lot of the times the client will personally ask for the patch test if they are uncertain if they will get a reaction to it or not. I don't do it unless they ask me for it just because you will be wasting a lot of time if you are doing this to every single person. Not everyone is allergic or will get a reaction. But if you feel more comfortable and safe doing it that way then go for it there's nothing wrong with being on safe with your clients.

@alejandraromero21702 жыл бұрын
I get your point about genuinely being interested on the client. I also think it is true that we concentrate so much on being professional and also the fact that we are always being told the client needs to be quiet in order for your job to be less difficult. So my question is, how do you deal with them talking? The eye pads move all the time when they are talking, some tend to always move their head while they’re talking or when they laugh. How do you deal with this situation? Also, what do you have in your lash room to help the client relax and feel comfortable? Thanks for this video ❤️❤️

I did my firsend on my own for the first time it took me 5 hours I didn't get every lash. Would you recommend just working on the doll
@YoyisLashBeauty2 жыл бұрын
Hey hun. That's perfect timing. Remember it takes time to pick up speed. And no I recommend to work on real people. It's actually a lot harder to work on the mannequin because if you mess up it's whatever. If you work on a real person it'll pressure you to work better and that's how you improve. I know it's scary and frustrating but trust me the best way to learn is keep doing it. You don't get good overnight you get good over time. So if I can go from taking 12 hours for half a classic set to doing it in under 2 hours then you can too. It just takes time and lots of lots of practice on real people. You got this! ❤️

Jessica. Girl trust me I still get nervous and build up anxiety when a new client walks through that door. But remember our business is built on clientele, and if you let that fear take over then you'll never get new clients. You'll be stuck at square one forever and I'm sure you don't want that. We have to get over that fear and get outside our comfort zone. It's never easy meeting new people it's always going to be awkward but it's our job to make them feel comfortable when we are proviy a service. So if your scared they are going to sense that. And it's going to be so uncomfortable. Affirmations is the way to go. Talking to myself instead of listening to myself helped my mental thinking so much and it has helped with my anxiety. I'm not saying I don't have anxiety anymore I'm just saying talking to myself and reming myself that I'm okay goes a long way. You got this girl! Don't doubt yourself ever! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

When practicing do you charge a small fee or accept a tip?
@YoyisLashBeauty2 жыл бұрын
I would charge $40 for model prices. For friends and family I did a free set the first time so I can get the practice in but if they wanted to continue to get them done them I would start charging for a fill. Don't do it free everything because the moment you start charging they aren't going to like it. So make sure they know it's not a free service forever. But for anyone that was recommended from my close friends and family I would charge them model price of $40 the first time and then charge them my regualrw prices after that. It just helps being in money quicker instead of you spending more out of your pocket to replace the products again .

I only have living room available any tips how to make it work ?
@YoyisLashBeauty2 жыл бұрын
I completely understand hun. Best tips I can give you is if you have other people living with you make sure no one is around when lashing someone. Your clients needs to feel like it's just you and her. Remember she's paying you so the least you can do is make her feel likes it's her "me" time and you definitely don't want anyone in the room making her feel uncomfortable especially because she can't see who it is. Also make sure your area is spotless. Clean clean clean! Light some candles. Put some soft music. Nothing crazy like your in a club or something lol unless you both are into that then set the mood you know. Do what works for you and if thats your living room make sure it feels comfortable for the both of you especially the one paying you. If you have to have a designated corner for your bed and material then do what works for you.

Girl yes! A maniquin is not really helpful at all in my opinion it just helps me practice placement, how much glue to learn to use, what tweezers that are cool. They should make maniquins with multiple layers of eye lashes because maniquins don't help me practice isolation or like your techniques lashing in layers.
