Use an air compressor to blow out any dirt or debris before removing the spark plug to prevent particulates from going into the engine. Tighten to 8 ft/lbs (96 in/lbs)

i have a 2001 Suzuki Intruder Volusia VL800 , when i change out spark plugs i always carry a pair of Hemostats in my saddlebags just in case the fall like yours did . .......... just make sure that they have no resin on them

I got that information from the manual which actually says .31 - .36. But it looks like most recommend .35

You really shouldn't gap ngk plugs unless one was dropped just a tip... 20 yr master motorcycle tech

My owner's manual (2009 M50) says to use NGK DPR7EA-9 or ND X22ESR-U9 Gap 0.8 -0.9. mm (0.031 - 0.035")....0.033 average....
