Symptoms: Puddle of water under the door on the left.
Tools: 5/8" open-ended wrench, 5/16" nut driver, 1/4" nut driver, Phillips screwdriver, needlenose pliers, two 5/32" Allen wrenches.
This GE made Dishwasher Door Vent Seal replaces the following older part numbers on General Electric, Hotpoint, RCA, Sears, and Kenmore Dishwashers: WD08X23666.

This was helpful. I made the repair on my GE dishwasher and discovered a couple of slight variations (It’s a newer model). On mine, before lifting the door off, you need to disconnect the spring loaded pulleys on each side. It didn’t require me to lock the door open with the Allen wrenches (although you can). Secondly, my door had 4 additional hex screws (2 on each side) that had to be removed before the door panels could be separated. It appears GE redesigned the threads on the door vent to tighten more fully to prevent leaks. After doing this repair myself, in hindsight I think simply buying a new door vent cap might’ve solved the problem. The new gasket wasn’t much different than the old one.

Hello ... is one of few pages with helpful information. I have a ge dishwasher gdt695smjes. There is not a lot information for this specific model and its going on 4 years, December 2021. Anyway, I followed the instructions. I replace the gasket, however now the vent cover falls off after following your instructions. My question is there an adhesive I can apply to thread "cement" the cover into place? I notice the "reservior"with the flange is secured near the top of inner door frame After several tries before putting the door back together I gave up. GE needs to be more proactive and come up with solution. Otherwise, I threw $1000 away on this unit. Because of this product design defect.
