Hey @appliancepartspros! I have the same dishwasher, and I noticed our lower cabinetry gable next to the dishwasher was very swollen & moisture damaged at the bottom with a lot of dried water marks all over the side. I initially thought this was a water leak from a pump, drain/supply hose, or door seal BUT figured out that during the drying cycle with the fan going, steamy water is building up inside the door panel on both sides of this conduit/vent, and the steam also forms on the gable. We also get some steam/water accumulating at the bottom of the door panel & then dropping onto the floor. I have tried removing the vent cover inside & reinstalling/retightening it, and the problem still persists. Is this a design flaw with these things, or do you think the vent seal or one of the other conduit parts are causing this?

With all the work to replace the vent assembly, why would you not go ahead and replace the yellow seal?

You would only need to replace the damaged/worn part. But you can replace the seal as well if you would like.

What is the purpose of the red wire near the vent?

It is a moisture/temperature sensor that communicates with the control board.
