I know this expansion is supposed to be more player friendly than previous expansions, but damn it is hard to know where to start. I haven’t played since launch, and logging back in to Valdrakken with what seems like 100 quest icons with no real explanation is pretty overwhelming. Not to mention, the MSQ seems to be very disjointed. I got one character to 70 on launch, but going back and trying to level another character is just weird. You get to like 67-68 and the storyline just seems to end after helping Kalecgos. The game does give you new MSQs to work on but they feel like they’re not related. Maybe I’m just dumb.

Yeah, I really just don't get it. It simply isn't clear whatsoever what all the objectives are, what I should be doing, what I even can be doing. None of it makes sense and despite the apparent lack of currencies, it feels just like the old days where there actually was currencies without end. I quit within the first 3 weeks of DF because it felt pretty grindy and slow, and now it just seems entirely overwhelming. Edit: Of fucking course I rejoin when the emerald dream is "awakened", and once again it is just a research headache on how to get there.

Once you reach the level where Drake's crests are no longer useful in any of your slots, you can convert 90 of them into 15 Wyrm's crests, so that's another decent source of the latter for outdoor world players. You can technically do the same with Wyrm's and Aspects crests, but it would take forever to get a useful amount.

that's how it goes, unless you're doing the Crafting path, 502 is the base max for S4 Sparks and a Drake's Awakened Crest will bump that to 515, just do accept that you'll be progressing far slower.

So far I am spending bullions on BiS weapons, and 2 trinkets, after that I am getting the appearances I am missing. At the moment I have a hunter up to 492, and then a paladin, druid, warrior, shaman, evoker, who are all 480-485. Still working on my priest, mage, DK, lok, monk, DH, and rog, lowest is sitting at 464, but a few of them I didn't do week 1. So nice that you can get last weeks bullions drop and crafted thing as well. Everyone minus my hunter is just casual alts.

You can get around this very easily by listing your own keys. As a DPS it takes me max 10mins to form a group. As a tank it takes me 2 - 5mins max (I suspect it's around the same for healers too).

@@mmbabineaux i love how people keep saying it's so overwhelming, i feel like i'm surrounded by grade school dropouts, jesus wept... i've never even gone to college and i figured this out in minutes, the Flightstones are the BASE Currency, the Crests are the replacement for M+ Rating. Whelpling Crests come from World Content and Heroic Dungeons. Drake Crests come from M-ZERO Dungeons Wyrm Crests come from +2 Dungeons Aspect Crests come from +5 and up. you take Flightstones and the appropriate Currency to upgrade your gear, the Item Upgrader NPC will literally tell you what you need to upgrade when you hover over the icons.

I've been gearing up characters to get the Bollion for transmogs, and this week has been a big boon. Between the Dreamsurge event, the weekly quest, the Loam Niffin weekly quest and the Time Rift event, I geared up 4 characters so far from sub 400 to LFR level gear in a few hours.

The dreamsurge green orbs don't give whelpling crests anymore. The little tree treasures still do though but they are harder to find and a bit more rare.

If you're undergeared or a returning player that isnt familiar with the raids yet I'd recommend running LFR on Tuesday. A lot of higher geared players will run to get their Bullion quickly for the week so its a very fast clear.

The Dreamsurge Zone does not drop whelping crests in those little green clouds anymore... i have tried and tried and tried on multiple toons... they do not drop crests anymore. Prove me wrong (id like to be wrong).

This week: Rift starts on the hour, ALWAYS. Finish, go to Zaralek for researchers on the half hour, ALWAYS. Takes 12-20 mins iirc to do researchers. Go to dragon zone to loot chest. If at 0 shards, takes at least 15 mins if busy server much longer if not. So for 1 LAST HURRAH on 1 toon, it took at least 1 hr. Alt friendly? nah. In fact it's the opposite of alt friendly and they are just smoke screening us with war bands. It wont get any quicker to gear alt #5 than it ever has. The irony is, they are leaning into alt creation starting in 10.2.7 with the panda leveling zone. they WANT u to have alts so the can time sink u into gearing them :) If you play 1 toon..YAY!!! if u have an army.....whats the point? Oh and PS...on alt 5 u have a VERY good chance of getting duplicate gear, meaning the time u spent was utterly wasted!

I feel like Im missing something with Drake Crests, I did all the events last week and this week and still havent capped. Last season I was able to cap from just planting seeds in Emerald Dream, but that doesnt seem to work anymore in S4. Is there any world content that is spamable for Drake Crests?

There isn't any repeatable content for Drake crests. All of the weekly missions give you drake, all the Mythic 0 dungeons and all the Normal Raid bosses. There is another way to get drake crests, which is to upgrade Whelpling crests to Drake crests (6->1 ratio) and downgrade Wyrm crests to Drake crests (1->1 ratio).

you wont be able to cap your Drakes without Group Content sadly, you can get close but with the max rising each week, you're gonna be coming up short, as the road to BiS has been shortened greatly compared to S3 and S1 of TWW promises to be no different.

If you're collecting coalescence with a character below level 70 you will not get crests. At 70 the orbs and flowers will give 2 crests each up to the current weekly cap.

Oh, here is where I'm a bit confused. May 7th we're dumping all the current content for new content they are piling on. Your video seems to suggest that by this time next week a person isn't going to have enough time in the day to do all the content and upgrade one's equipment. So really - where should our attention really be focused? What kind of gear is going to be available with the new content? Especially if I read this correctly that you have to roll a new character to do the new content? Is that right? This is feeling a bit f..ked up yeah?

There's two different content. The Darkheart stuff that does the leadup to War Within which is part of this gearing. The thing that has a new char is the Pandaria Remix which is alternative content to DF. The characters in the Remix can be used as regular characters in War Within. It's probably going to be 3-5 months until the new expac so the Remix is something to do if you're bored with DF and don't want to play Classic.

May 7th is only Story Content with the 16th opening a new event for new level 10 characters. this will not affect the Season 4 gearing path whatsoever. i personally am only gearing my main and maybe my Tanks, my focus will be on Mists Remix and since the event is a temporary one, it should be your focus as well.

Drake's crests only come from the caches you get from killing the world boss and doing the weekly events. I have not been able to cap those any week so far. Saying you can cap drake's crests as a solo player is fake news I think 295/360 is the max now for people that don't do Mythic dungeons

Sparks are not solo content related since they require another player for them to create items, especially since there;s no way to tell the prices without asking, the game should display current price levels for items made, this is why it sucks and i never use it, it's trash because if you have to ask for a price anyone can charge whatever they want.

Gear from weeklies is awesome! Of course, once you drop, say, Shoulders from your 1st cache of the week, the 2nd cache has a 50% increased chance of also dropping Shoulders, the 3rd cache is random, but the 4th will 100% contain Shoulders. Such good fun! LOL

@@hawkthemans You still have to do LFR, and if we’re being realistic about wyrm crests, you’ll need to do more than just convert vault every week if you want to be 515 before the season ends; remember, you also need the Wyrm crests to upgrade your tier to 515 even if you got it by solo questing

There's a difference from "afraid of having to talk to strangers in a group or be accepted" From "Afraid to see a toon controlled by another human, even if you require zero interaction with that person at all" When Kelani speaks of playing "solo" he's referring to the 1st group of people... you will see others, but you don't have to interact with them. If you fall into the 2nd group, I'm sorry... you are playing the wrong game... look up what "MMO" means, this game is not for you.

Got cache last week didn't get one this week from world boss.

There was an issue where world boss kill didnt give credit. If you didnt get credit for the kill you wouldnt have got the cache. Did you get credit for the world boss kill? If not, try to kill again the issue is supposed to be fixed.

@@anthonyclaughan5620 Earlier in the week i tried on 2 characters and didnt get the cache but i also didnt get credit for the kill. You can see if you got credit for the kill by looking at the map if the world boss icon is still on the map, that means you didnt get credit for the kill. I then tried on the same characters that i didnt get credit for again yesterday and got the cache and credit for the kill. Just look for the world boss icon on the map, if the icon is still there the boss should still available for you. The issue should be fixed.

you can only wear 2 crafted gears with embelishements. but i have toons nearly full slots of crafted gears from last patch(cause you need lots of sparks ). you can wear crafted gear on each slots if you want but they must not be embelished. i figured it out few months ago in another SOK video. the gearing system is complicated since zaralek cavern patch

If you are answering based on your understanding from Season 3, the rules have changed. If what you're saying is current and is true, it's like saying "ya, the Lich King does drop Invincible, it's just not guaranteed every kill". If the orbs have Invincible drop rates for Crests, that doesn't help anyone.

Realistically, you CAN get some 515 with fully solo content. But those pieces will deffinitely be more rare (like 1 per week). Everything else will be veteran level max. If you wish to exclusively do fully SOLO content at least. Everything else will include some group content. However, m0 is super ez = easy champion gear. And you can spam some m2 to farm wyrm crests. You dont need to go further

I logged in after 5 months of not playing..what a mistake, this shit is a mess. A billion new currencies i have no idea what they do, craft gear by having someone else do it, through the auction house, which i have no idea how to do(its not simple). A billion quest markers everywhere and most of them give nothing when finished...ALL I WANT IS HIGHER GEAR TO DO OLD CONTENT...god I hate WoW sometimes, they just can't get it right. Grinding currency to upgrade my gear 3 item level at a time is the dumbest shit ever invented, who wanted this?? I'd rather go to a timeless isle thing and kill rare spawns and loot chests for gear than this horrible shit show.
