There is also another secret. The Magic of the snapping wrist. If you are able to snap your wrist while hitting the cueball, you will generate a lot of more power. Efren, Bustamante and many more players use their wrist. You can see it very often when asians play our beloved game. But this also needs to be trained.
@FXBilliards

You make a good point about the snapping of the wrist, but I don’t teach that because 99% of players do not need any additional moving parts. They’re having enough trouble with the ones they already have. And that takes world-class timing. Thanks again for your comments.

Another good video, thank you. I sooo struggle with tip placement. My biggest flaw by far. Hitting the cue ball where I think I am vs. where I actually am is the one thing that frustrates me. I use the Aramith Jim Rempe on the High/Low, Right/Left side and practice practice practice with it but again... I struggle. I think I've mentioned before that I'm a much better golfer than a pool player, (currently 8.4 index), and the similarities are striking to me. They say that golf is a game for life but I don't agree. I can't see myself playing at this level in ten or or fifteen years, (I'm 63). I do believe that pool is a game for life which is why I've committed to reaching a high level... I know I can. APA Spring session I started playing on a senior 8-ball team, (I'm one of the younger ones, lol), and wow, those old people can play. I'm glad I started 8-ball because I've only played 9-ball for fifteen years, (and not very seriously), and I see now how different the two games are. Sorry for writing a book but I just wanted you to know, that for a guy like me, your videos have been a true blessing. I have been working with a local certified instructor every Friday since March and I'm having a one-on-one with Mark Wilson Thursday in St. Louis. I'm fortunate that he is only a couple of hours away and I can drive and be home the same day. Regardless, you give me great additional direction and are a very good instructor, thanks again.

I agree with everything Bryan--I would just add acceleration though the shot. A lot of beginner players just "hit" the shot. Yiu need to accentuate the shot with a positive stroke though the cue ball no matter what shot you are playing!!

TSG was OK if you are a pool player. It's enjoyable. But it was not going to win any awards for acting. , writing, directing, or even cinematography. It's move of a cult favorite not a good film. But yes, it might make a list for some people. Also, the other three movies were films that actually brought people into the game. TSG would not have that kind of power. This is all IMO. Thanks for watching.

Power is definitely attributed to a great stroke. It’s not about hitting the ball hard, it’s about how well you hit it.

Thanks for this Brian. Revo 12.9mm? Curious why did you change from 12.4mm?
@FXBilliards
@FXBilliards 22 күн бұрын
I keep both in my bag, but the 12.9 is more forgiving, and I don’t need the extra spin with my stroke.

How does timing as you describe it jibe with the need for a stroke to accelerate?
@FXBilliards
@FXBilliards Ай бұрын
Very much the same thing. If you’re not accelerating, you’re probably decelerating. Thanks for watching and thanks for your question.

Have you gotten more power with your carbon fiber shaft?
@FXBilliards
@FXBilliards Ай бұрын
I don’t think I’ve gotten more power, but certainly more consistency,l- wood is slightly different every single time you use it- carbon fiber tends to be the same. I do break better with carbon fiber, probably because it’s lighter.
