Great video! Our door just stopped working and after I pulled the handle and opened it manually the broken inner slide fell to the floor. Once I watched your video I went out and searched and found the broken bolt. My bet is vibration caused one of the bolts to loosen and come off and the other eventually broke under the strain. I know exactly what needs to be done to fix it after watching your video. Thank you so much!

Great video thanks !! I found my plastic slider on the ground, cracked and teeth all worn down. Ordered 2 on Sunday, Amazon had them to us on Monday. Couple bucks higher than the Genie website. Genie sells for < 6 each.

Tried changing slide, but the chain was connected to the inner slide. upon taking off the inner slide, the chain is hanging into two pieces, and I couldn't get the chain back together. Any idea,

It sounds like the chain was only being held together with the inner slide if I’m reading it correctly…. The chain should be connected by a master link (Genie part#20060A.S) You can replace the chain or add a small section of chain using master links to connect them. Genie website should have the parts. My slider came out and I didn't know. How do I find out where to put it back in?

Run the unit and then block the sensors momentarily so the unit stops and reverses… once it’s done cycling in reverse , the unit will now be in the “open position”. You can then open your door manually all the way open where you want it. Mark the chain where the trolley is when the door is fully open. Place your inner slide in the spot you marked for the trolley. Pull your door up so the trolley engages into the inner slide. Now run the unit and the door should open and close in the correct spot. It may need an adjustment on the limits after but usually very slim.

When I put that back on the chain, can I put that anywhere I want or does it have a spot that I have to line the screws up? I don’t know how but somehow mine got behind the sprocket. Now that I’m thinking about it I believe in the chain came off. I had nowhere to go, but yeah, do I put that in a certain spot or can I put it anywhere on the chain?

You will have to run the unit and watch the back of the limits to see when it stops opened. Once it stops, you can set the inner slide on the chain in the position where the door will be completely opened. Send me your contact information [e-mail] and I can walk you through the steps if needed. Thx
