Great how to video, one time saver is at the 4 min mark (motor end block removal). Instead of dissembling the block from the screw drive, you can lift the screw drive out of guide tracks and slide the screw drive forward to then place the new carriage on, then slide the screw drive and end block back. I am awaiting the new carriage to install and will confirm if this can be done. Thx again for a very good how to on this product.

Great video - Super helpful !!!! Waiting for my part - the only thing I did "additionally" was grease the bearings near the motor, the screw drive & the underside of the rails where the carrier will slide,. Thank you so much for taking the time to create & post this video !!!!! Cheers !!!!

@@GARAGEMANTEDDY have a question I am installing first the first time the garage door how do I get the carriage to not be so close to the garage door they recommend like 12 inches from the door, mine is too close how do I move it further along the screw?

This is very helpful. I may have to replace the carriage on my Genie 1500. For some reason, both lights are steady red and I have to set the limits again. This happened 2 times this month.

Great video. That black block at 4mins, you dont have to take off, just rotate it 90 degrees and push forward as much as you need, once the carriage is in place on the other end, just rotate the block back to its normal spot :)

Do you have a video on attaching the trolley to the rail? Does it just slide on from the end of the rail?

I'm having a hard time sliding the carriage into the rail. I can push it in slightly then it's doesn't want to continue sliding further into the rail. Your video appears to show it sliding in fairly easy. I don't know what's wrong I've followed all of your steps and can't seem to correct this.

Check to make sure the rail isn’t bent causing any pressure points on the carriage. Also try putting a slight amount of lubrication as you get the carriage into the rail.

Oh my gosh. Ok, watching this video finally made me realize I don’t have the black part for the rail on the coupler end , which is why it keeps disconnecting. Where can I find one??

Is there a specific direction that you need to put the carriage assembly? Also do you need to grease it first? And lastly is it necessary to have to pull the whole rail off?

Hi Ijohnston, Thank you for reaching out. The carriage assembly can be installed either direction , it won’t hurt to grease the screw drive on the rail and carriage. Actually recommended to have the screw section greased. Regarding removing the rail, I do because it’s easier for me to work on the ground rather than being on a ladder. Hope that helps. Is this a one-piece rod? If so.Where did you order this from?

The screw rod is not a one-piece rod. The c channel rail and rod are in 3 pieces connected. If your needing a new rod or rail all together, Genie does have them online under part # 38244R.S. I replaced mine and the door won’t go up. The horrible grinding noise is gone but now it won’t move at all
