Basic answer, I have an older engine so my dip stick always looks black, so I change mines every 10k. that's excessive tho but , older engines typically go between 10k, 12.5k to 15k. Best answer, you can contact your engine manufactures recommended oil change service interval for your exact engine. also try to get that in writing as they have (owners) manuals for recommended service intervals.

@@rodnic12 Lol yeah he is. I do oil samples on every oil change . My oil gets changed in my trucks between 30-35k so far over hundreds of thousands of miles all my samples come back good.
