The issue is more with being 15.5 wide than being 40 inch diameter. Plus whatever the aftermarket wheel's offset is, because it could likely be less and with a 40x13.5r20, would mean less changes and cutting. Stock wheels are usually the least Backspacing, and aftermarket are several variations of more and therefore sticking out until the wheel wells and front bumper/valance are intrusive

You're gonna have a hard time finding anyone that is willing to mount a 40 inch tire to a 16 inch rim. Gonna need to step up to 18 inch minimum.

To achieve no rubbing at all, you need to shift the axle forward a couple inches and go at least 7" lift, and install an adjustable steering stop bolt

Do you know if the center pin is moved forward on the BDS lift kits? I have a BDS 6 inch lift kit.

Not sure I'd call the company you bought it from and find out. They "should" know. My superlift front springs were shifted 1" forward and I made another video making custom plates to shift it forward another 1". For a total of 2"

Nice stance on your excursion, what are your tire specs again? I have a 2000 excursion with 37s and want wider tires. Currently the truck looks narrow and unbalanced. I also considered the wheel spacers because I encountered slight rub on the leaf springs when turning and some on inner fender well. Not sure of lift but pretty tall, maybe 6-8" lift.

40x15.5 on 20x10 wheels. Lift is 7.5"front 8" back.

You running 9" wide wheels? Otherwise 37s shouldn't rub on the leafs

@@frankflores9920 I just happened to be in this video again answering comments and I should have also added, if you have issues rubbing the inner fender, then you do not want to add spacers as it will clear the Axle but the fender/bumper clearance will get much worse because the tire swings wider. Check out my "tips and tricks video" I talk about aftermarket springs and shifting the center pin forward. Sounds like you got one of the unlucky front spring lifts that don't shift the pin forward

It is true that lifted springs have a higher spring rate but that has nothing to do woth 40s, if you have zero or low travel you should watch my video on "softening up leaf springs" (this lowered my spring rate allowing for more travel) but i think you are trying to say that my tires will rub DURING travel? you should check out my "Axle shift" video where I move the Axle forward 1" to allow for more tire clearance during travel. I have a good ride and can still make u turns very easy.
