I have a question from you Sunny, I have around 20 followers on my page and I don't get as many comments and likes, I do get some engagement for sure, but I don't get comments, unless I go ask similar creators to tell me what they think of my page. I used to have a follower that engaged a lot and commented on every post after a while and started DMing me, which at first felt really good, but after a while I started to feel like this person is only tyring to get certain things they need to know (since my page is an semi-educational page, a language learning page on which I share my progress and I never stated clearly that I am going to teach you this and that) and then this person kept telling me oh you have a wonderful page, and blah blah. Every once in a while indirectly made me share posts I wasn't yet ready to share or had not planned to share yet to kind of please that follower. After a while I decided I don't enjoy detouring from my own path and I stopped engaging with that follower. I ended up removing them. Do you think it was a good idea? Have you had followers that you felt were only trying to use you and how did you deal with them?

I've been thinking about this recently. It would be great for Instagram, KZbin, and other social media platforms to offer a purge option. The purge would get rid of any of your followers who haven't interacted with your content in a year or six months. While there would be people who wouldn't use it, it would make the vanity metrics so much more meaningful. Like a million Instagram followers who have all interacted with your content in the past six months. Plus that be much more valuable to any brand deals you want to approach.

For that you have to switch your account to professional, you need to complete 4 steps, it'll tell you what you have to do. Then you'll get an option in every post which says View Insights, there it'll tell you about the engagement of your post. It'll give you more details about the insights when you reach a certain amount of engagement.

it took me 3 years to not even make it to 5k *REAL* followers...and I used to get upt to 500 or so likes...but now I'm lucky to make it up to or passed 200...I've never purchased anything other that to promote a few posts *THROUGH INSTAGRAM* here and there...I'm not sure what happened. I do call to action captions and advertise through my stories...I've don't everything. I see SO many accounts smaller than mine that get THOUSANDS of likes and they seem to be doing well. people are commenting, and their photo quality isn't the greatest...it sure takes a toll on the self esteem...

Man, you know these people talking about followers were part of a by gone era when organic growth was possible. Many are not artists/creators at least not good ones. It’s the fact they sell attractive pics of themselves. There is no way to grow really unless the face is picked up by the algorithm-that’s why in the art section it’s a bunch of newbies painting faces..If you don’t have over 1000-2000 followers at least in any endeavor you will not grow because your perceived value is too low. It’s called social proof and most people have none..These videos act like it’s simply you not being pro like them. Success bias and disingenuous click baiting are the mix..
