How to Get a 34+ on the ACT

I just finished Pre calc and when I took the July 18th ACT I scored a 19 in the math section. There were some questions that I have honestly never seen in my entire life. I don’t know how to even describe them but I hadn’t ever done or seen them in my whole math career😂

Hello Jiarui! I breeze through almost all the first 20 questions in the math section, and the last ten I just guess because I don't have time for them and even if I do, I just can't do them. I learned everything till Algebra 2 and Trig. What do you suggest to improve those last few?

Not to worry! I would say to first work on improving your speed for questions 21-49. For that, I've found taking practice tests of the entire math section to be extremely helpful, especially since the middle section tends to be more consistent in concepts and difficulty than the last few questions. Once you have cut down your time on the mid-level questions, you should have more time for the harder ones! I'm not sure if I have any specific tips for tackling the last few questions, but practice never hurts! Good luck :)

Personally I struggle most with getting through Reading and Math, and I do very well on English and Science. I'm trying to focus on those first two because they're pulling down my composite.

Im in 9th grade and have only took pre algebra in the math section I took a practice test in math and got 33/40 is that good? I have to take the act in February.

@@evitao6570 not really I’m probably going to get the act prep books and practice with those also I feel my score will get better once I take the classes needed for it I’m starting 10th grade
