Rewording the leq and dbq questions into normal words and not collegeboard yapanese also helps. it’s easier to comprehend and think of arguments when you don’t have to take 2 minutes to mentally process the question. Like for “evaluate the extent to which economic growth led to changes in US society from 1940-70” is just asking you how consumerism post-depression changed America Edit: took the exam today!! I’ll come back in July with my score, very confident in a 4 or 5😈🔥 Edit July 8: RAAAA I GOT A 5 🦅🦅🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

@pandathegaminglegend57004 ай бұрын
i havent taken the exam yet, but something that imo is rly useful for studying and knowing what to write on the saq, dbq, and leq is looking specifically at past frq's and how many points each student answer got. read through each one and also notice how they answer the prompts (the answers that get a lot of points). every year the essays are insanely similar so if u know the general format all u gotta do is fill in the blanks which is just ur knowledge. also understand the rubrics bc even if u cant come up with much, on the leq for instance u can get 3 points by just writing some context, writing a mediocre thesis, and defining two examples.

Categorizing buzzwords definitely helped me remember them more easily(time periods and topics of prompts like: culture, technology, military, economy, etc) if you have at least a few strong buzzwords for these categories, when you look at prompts, try to see what category/time period they fit in. Then remember the different buzzwords in the category and apply them. Hopefully that helps!

No problem! I know how stressful it is, but don’t worry too much, too much stress makes it harder to study and perform well. When you actually study the buzzwords, rather than mindlessly remembering 100s of definitions, I would actually categorize buzzwords based on unit/time period and what topic they fit into(topics of prompts like: culture, technology, military, economy, etc) if you have at least a few strong buzzwords for these categories, it becomes much easier to recall and apply them to prompts. Hopefully that helps!

i was struggling with the same thing. u know all the examples but just cant remember them off the top of ur head. something that worked with me is separating each unit into major ideas and understanding those key themes. for instance unit 8 (1945-1980) covers so much info and specific things that's its rly tough to just remember it off the top of your head. so for instance separate it into major ideas: US reaction to communism (truman doctrine, Eisenhower doctrine, marshall plan, 2nd red scare, etc.) 1950s prosperity (consumerism, economic prosperity, baby boom, television, homogeneous culture, reinforcement of cultural ideas, etc.) 1960s chaos (Great Society, LBJ, Vietnam War, Counterculture, Anti-war, Civil Rights Movement, Women's Rights Movement, American Indian Movement, etc. -- basically liberalism all over the place) 1970s, not too much (rise of conservatism, nixon, silent majority, detente, Watergate, EPA, etc.) 1980 (reagan, conservatism) I know this probably isn't much help, but the key thing is too rly understand how it all goes together and how each event unfolded bc that helps ur brain understand. for instance if u know liberalism was all over the place, u instantly think that the consequence of that is then conservatism rises. well who rose with conservatism? nixon & reagan, what were their policies, reagonomics, limited gov't, etc. well hope that helps something! personally i got all the history down pretty well, i just cant write fast by hand so that's my main issue atm.
