On August 21st, 2023, officers responded to a case of domestic violence. Upon arriving at the scene, they tried talking to the woman in question who was wearing a towel but soon, she began escalating the whole situation. The woman began acting very aggressively with the officers. She continued to tell the officers that she was going to call the lawyers. She was showing no signs of stopping her erratic behavior. The woman was charged with resisting arrest and battery upon a peace officer.

I’m from Russia and I can tell that she is definitely not a recent refugee (can tell by her slight American accent when she speaks Russian). Also, there is a myth about police being much harsher in Russia but oddly enough it’s not completely true. Yes, police is much more brutal when it comes to dispersing protests, prosecuting political dissidents or executing some “special request” from their higher-ups, but when it comes to regular encounters with citizens, police in Russia is surprisingly powerless. There are a lot of laws and other incentives in place that make police extremely reluctant to use force in day-to-day operations. It leads to a lot of undesired consequences like police really having no legal room to do anything with domestic abusers, disturbing neighbors etc.

I’m sure the male officers are glad too (I’m sure they’ve seen their fair share of semi naked crazed ladies) I’m surprised one cop didn’t say “for the love of god! Put some clothes on” I saw a video not long ago where the cop said that to a naked drunk lady (she was naked the whole time and he was telling her to cover up or put some clothes on and when she didn’t listen that’s when he said that)
