I’m pretty good at it by now (did a few wedding looks for friends back in my 20s), but I always get at least one tip I didn’t know about when I watch you. This was a really good video and I enjoyed it very much and Just to say, you are immensely watchable 😊

I recently found a really simple and very helpful treatment for my skin, if it has problems like pimples or inflammation of any kind. Nappy creme with high amounts of zinc oxid. I use the Penaten wound creme. It helps over night. Even these bad hormonal pimples get much much better over night. I had this idea from Dr. Shirin Idris and she calls it skin basting. It really works. Also you look like Casper the friendly ghost for the night 😅

@@JPMJPM try it, it's inexpensive and works. Teenagers can be challenging though if they don't care about a good cleansing routine. The son of my partner complains about his skin issues but even using a creme regularly is way too much efford 🤣

I am 57 years old, and I use the same technique as you with the foundation: application with brush and then tap it in with the damp sponge, but I spray the sponge first with Laura Mercier setting spray. The foundation melts into the skin and the setting spray makes it stay put. 😊

I love the DW which is my go to, but I do have extremely dry skin and still end up a bit cakey. I was really hoping after that EL video that you would follow through with the one on getting EL Double Wear just right. I thought maybe this was it. This video was very helpful and showed me mistakes I will rectify in my routine though so thank you!

I’ve been a Mac girl since forever and I tried to stay away from more glowy options because I’ve got oily skin. I got influenced on KZbin and went and bought their new Studio radiance foundation and wow, it’s glowy but soooo nice on my oily acne prone 40+ skin. I just set it with a powder around the nose, chin and the center of my forehead. I got compliments on how nice my skin looks. It’s not super full coverage but I like it that way.

Thank you! That brought back many memories from when my mum did Avon, as they sent her on beauty courses with Barbara Daly and Anita Roddick and others I can't remember! Oil of Ulay was our go to and I'd set the oven timer for 15 minutes, then apply revlon foundation and Rimmel concealer. I never used powder but those blotting paper from the Body Shop. Being an italian I have always had oily skin, "Greasy Wop" was my nick name at english boarding school (now don't everyone go wild about that, I am from the era of "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me". I can't say I had acne but used to come up with some very big spots every now and then. However, since hitting menopause my skin has totally changed, I think the used term is normal but I would say it is fantastic. So I avoid foundations and stick with my trusted Erborian CC Cream. I did enjoy the pretentious wafting then that cartoon moment with the idea of using the fan. Glad you found the fan I remember you had lost it.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to keep my foundation from settling into the fine lines under my eyes. I use the BK Beauty 101 brush to apply my foundation (NARS Sheer Glow or Clinique Even Better), I do not apply it too heavily, I don't generally use concealer, and I press a light amount of loose setting powder (Dermablend) with a medium brush. Should I use concealer under my eyes instead of foundation, even though I don't have under eye discoloration? What am I doing wrong??
