Good stuff. Just like to mention that after you get several high limit CC, it wouldn't be a bad idea to do financing on that HVAC system or whatever. Those finance plans are typically an installment loan and that adds to your credit mix, no? Get the loan and pay it off early, but it still reports to the bureaus as more GOOD payment history. Bonus for not taking up available credit on the CC's, which can always be used as a QUICK emergency fund.

Called Wells Fargo earlier this year to update my income and ask for a credit increase of $1k, had a balance of $1700 on my card though. Got denied for the credit increase, I'm currently capped at $9k.

It’s crazy how some credit cards require a balance & some don’t like I’ve received increases on my Amex with a 0 balance but Capital One always declines me with a 0 balance & Discover approves me with a balance.

​@@craneguru66 - That is cool. I had a 1k or so (30% ) balance on a 4k card. When I called to ask, they asked how much and why I needed an increase. I told them, I had an expensive purchase coming up. I could pay cash instead so as to not max my card. They gave me 15k. I used the card regularly too. That might be all you need.

Unrelated to the current topic of this video but, I have a checking and savings, am a authorized user under a credit card (but I don't have any of my own), and have a pledge loan all under Navy Federal. Today I got a pre authorization for Navy Federal's Cash Rewards card, but I have a auto loan which I am a co applicant for pending. Question, should I go for the card now or after the auto loan shows up on my credit score?

Assuming this is the same for the Amex Hilton Surpass card? I got approved today but only for 1k. That kinda defeats the purpose as that won’t be enough to cover any of my trips therefore I won’t get the max points out my card. Should I request an increase in 61 days from the day it opened or should I wait for 6 months from the date it was opened. Love the channel and appreciate any feedback/clarification.

I have been doing some research and it appears Amex may have switched to 91 days from account opening in order to get that 3x limit increase. I am at 60 days now, so I don't wanna take my chances and ask for a CLI quite yet, just to get denied. Not saying you're wrong about the 60 days, just have seen A LOT of data points that are saying 91 days (3 billing cycles).

This is why it’s a the 61/90 rule. It’s either or because we have seen both data points. Always remember the longer you wait the better fam 🙌🏽
