Your videos are very informative and I also like seeing the people walking around. I’m wondering about how much of the Irish language we need to learn? (I’ve been practicing on Duolingo and find Irish ☘️ to be a beautiful language. ) Please post a video about recreational sailing, rowing, kayaking ~ boating ~ opportunities.

Corky, can you make a video on how to find a job when you are moving to Ireland for the first time? For example, from Croatia. It would be nice if you could list the name of agencies or companies who hire these people. I am thinking about basic jobs where training is provided and which can be done by anyone. Keep up the good work!

I don't think it would be any different than this one. I personally never used agencies so I really can't talk about it as I did.

Thank you for these tips! Being in the middle of a Job Search, I arrived in Galway two months ago and am looking to work in my field, it seems impossible. I've tried applying to the companies I like using a cover letter/key words and a CV relevant to the job I'm applying for and I haven't even got a phone call. I showed my CV to professionals in the sector and asked them if it was correct, and they told me it was good. I tried going directly to the job site and also submitting several applications online to different companies, but nothing seemed to work. I'm glad you got the job, if you have any more advice or recommendations I'd love to hear from you guys.

That surprises me a bit to be honest. Usually most of companies are polite enough to at least let you know you didn't get the position. In any case don't let it discourage you! As I mentioned, if you have to get something basic and then just keep at it. I am sure sooner or later you will get a job in your field.

If you're in Galway, and have applied to companies in Galway, just arrive in Reception, say you haven't heard any response, and you'd like a brief face-to-face to make a proper appointment. That's half the interview right away.

There may be jobs but finding accommodation sounds impossible. If your rent is increased or your landlord decides to sell up, do you realistically think it will be easy to find another affordable home? Genuine question as I’ve read comments from people who said that they were offered jobs but then couldn’t find accommodation, so had to decline the job.

We have dedicated videos both about housing crisis and about renting. Plus we mentioned our thoughts on housing several times in recent videos actually. It definitely is a problem, nobody is denying that, but I do also think that problem is not unique to Ireland and it is not the worst in Ireland. Not compared to some other EU countries and definitely not compared to world.

@@Corrky Finding an affordable place to rent in the United States is also difficult for young people today. It's no different than other countries.
