I am an admitted attorney and have just received an offer for a position as a senior KYC analyst for a start up company. The salary is significantly higher than my current position in the alternate legal services field (tech based, contract life cycle management). Do you think this career move would be beneficial in the long run?

@Carina Eriksson Thank you for the comment/question. First of all congrats on being an admitted attorney. In regards of the transfer to being a KYC analyst it sounds its a great opportunity and one to really consider for a number of reasons... 1- Being a KYC analyst is a gateway for other roles in the future within the AML space. 2- AML laws and regulations are only getting stricter and evolving which means AML personnel will be required for a very long time even with technology also improving you would always need the human interaction. 3- More sectors/industries are now having to comply with the AML regulations meaning it still leaves the door open for you if you want to jump back to the legal sector but within the AML space. I hope the above helps you in the decision making process. Once again congrats on the offer and current role. 👍

@Healthy Slim Life - Thank you for the comment and support. Great question... Its a hard one to give a direct answer, bit we will do our best... On one side you have the increase in regulations and more pressure being put regulated sectors to comply and then on the other side you have the economic pressure companies will have to still deliver for their shareholders. Although theres been a lot automatation within KYC/AML the need for actual bodies to perform checks is still very much needed even in the environment we find ourselves in.
