Video related question. I have never get a test done. But I have had the same credit card since 2008 and never missed a payment, I've nearly maxed it and fully paid it off multiple times(currently paid off) same story with insurance. I only had 1 credit nono before 2008(lost track of an old cell phone bill). The only problem is while I may be very fiscally responsible I have tourettes, and living in a very blue collar area with a severe recession(10-25% unemployment) I don't get jobs that last longer than a few months. So my income rarely goes over 20k a year. Even then I have managed to start up a TFSA(investment) and also building up bitcoin(my income has only got my to about 0.26BTC or about $2500 worth at current prices). Maybe getting that perfect score will be what gets me out of this, the loan that starts the company, perhaps.

16:00 Funny thing about credit piggybacking -- my dad had my name on one of his credit cards a long time ago when I had to go buy a computer for school. Fast-forward several years and I noticed I had a high utilization on my credit profile, even though I knew I wasn't using much of my credit. As it turned out, my dad had his credit card nearly maxed out and it was contributing to my credit profile and score. Once I asked the bureaus to remove my name, my score shot up 50 points.

When trying to get late payments removed on an active account, if it cannot be verified by the bureaus, do they remove that late payment and show on time payment for that month, show no information available for that month, or delete that account off the credit report? I want to get my late payment history corrected but not sure how disputing with the credit bureaus affects the active account if they cannot verify the information to be accurate, I wouldn't have been able to take them off if not me meeting *Future Imperative Corps*

My credit score has been between 820-832 for years...depending on my credit card usage...but I have never been late for payments and pay off all my credit cards in full each month. I also have NEVER paid a cent in interest in the 35 years I have had credit cards. If the credit card companies mistakenly charge me interest on a contested charge I call and refuse to pay it. They look up your credit history with them. You would be surprised at how flexible credit card companies can be if you have a history of paying off in full every month for over 30 years.

One of my teachers had a perfect 850, because he wanted to see if he could do it, for fun. He said the trick was to have many lines of credit open and use them all a bit. What he did was have around 30 credit cards and about once a month buy something for $10 on each of them (he just bought amazon giftcards or something) and then immediately pay it off before you forget. He said that he stopped once he got it because it wasn't worth it to maintain it.
@henri65954 жыл бұрын
He's doing what I'm doing right now. I use each of my credit cards once a month, let them register on my credit report, and pay them off in full. I've been able to increase my score 5-10 points per a month. I still got work to do but within a year I'll be at 800+.

@AngelicaSantos-zk4zu2 жыл бұрын
He said it only affects your score for 12 months and the hard inquiry falls off after two years. So it only is a short term sacrifice to get higher credit later for when you may need it. A future home loan or car loan.

I swear the small amount in a credit card thing is not a myth. For over half a year I kept paying my credit card in full and it was kept at a 0% utilization 24/7. My score never increased or decreased. I then started keeping a 10% utilization within my credit card, so if my limit is 2k, I would keep $200 (always paying off the statement balance when due) to keep my utilization at around 10% or less. After I started doing this, my score started to increase.

I completely understand the Dave side when you are susceptible to moments of weakness and/or binge spending. But if you're disciplined ( and I mean REALLY disciplined) the benefits of cash-back rewards cards can be significant. So while I'm a HUGE fan of Dave and try to live by his financial principles, I DO use MULTIPLE cards to maximize discounts and cash back opportunities. Just have Dave's discipline and pay them off the day you get the statement and never pay interest.

Marta L. Unfortunately, he is misinformed about 0% utilization. On Credit Karma, Credit Sesame, or any of these other free resources, they’re using a scoring model known as VantageScore 3.0, which is different than your “real score,” your FICO score. FICO is an acronym for Fair-Isaac Corporation, and they are the real scores you’ll want to know about when it comes time to purchase a car or home. There’s actually 28 different FICO scoring models, but the most common are FICO 5 and FICO 8. I say all this because if you want to see the biggest impact on your scores, you’ll want to keep your utilization between 1-7%.

Paul DeMiere Thanks for the info. That’s still a good percentage of utilization. I keep mine in 0% before the report and that has worked.

I can’t drop their website link on here, KZbin don’t allow links. Just search their name and connect to their official page. Don’t search on KZbin, search on google to take you to their platform.

credit score is probably the least indicator of wealth, in fact needing a good credit score to get a good interest rate just means you don't have money to purchase things in the first place.

Agreed, I tell everybody the same thing all the time. Borrowing money just means didn't have the money to buy in the first place.

Future Imperative Corps literally gave me a fresh start. Before, I was stressed out and exhausted from being turned down from lender to lender. As of now, I'm currently in the phase of purchasing a home. I'm more confident and I feel more secure. I want to extend a very big THANK YOU to *Future Imperative Corps* .
