I’m in South Florida and I went into an office to get this done. They helped me out with this application. I am registered to sell out of my storage unit and allowed to sell at flea markets. I did this because eventually I will be joining the Walmart marketplace. Also, even if Amazon is sending in your taxes, you still have to file with your state each quarter. Essentially you are telling the state that you owe $0. It’s just the formal paperwork. For Florida the deadline was yesterday. So go into your portal for Florida Revenue and submit the form with a $0 for gross sales and taxes. Because, Amazon will turn in the money.

Better late than never! It’s easier to get your sales tax license with a business, but you can also get it in most states as a Sole Proprietorship if you really wanted to. But seriously just form your LLC. Once you have your home state sales tax license, you can get your reseller sales tax exemption certificate for most states. There are two uniform certificates that work for like 30-40 states, but there are a few states that you have to apply to individually.

Good to know about the sole prop, but yeah I agree, just get the LLC! True, there are only 10 states that don't take out of state tax exempt (one of them florida, so only 9 for me). I don't plan on being in them for tooo long so should be good!

@@AnthonyBodanza And 5 of those are irrelevant as they don’t charge sales tax, so that really only leaves 4 states you may want to get individual tax exemption certificates from or just skip sourcing in.. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Not sure which ID number you're talking about. If it's the registration number with your state, you will need an EIN. Your EIN you get directly from the IRS for tax purposes, it's a really simple process if you don't have one. If you've opened business bank accounts, you have an EIN
