I stopped even promoting the course altogether (it feels too salesy and I don't want to be lumped in with people like that - it's still available in the descriptions though). As for OH specifically, I'm honestly not sure. I think it would depend on the specific state, business, and what you're reselling so I would think maybe have a consultation with an accountant that could help you (most consultations are free to see if you need their services in the future). For me, I resell and dropship in PA. I have a business setup and I also have a reseller's permit. I never went through the process of actually getting a "business license" though. As far as I know, I don't need one for what I'm doing...but I would definitely say if you're unsure just hop on a quick call with an accountant. Hope that helps!

I have found and understand the steps to get one in the state I live which is Virginia. A semi-local liquidation warehouse I would probably buy from is located in West Virginia, so would I need to also get a reseller's permit in that state or would I be able to use mine from VA?

You just get one for your state and then you would be able to use that permit nationwide. It’s only needed in the state you plan to sell from.

It's never "necessary." You can get a reseller's permit as a sole proprietor. You don't need to have a business/LLC. I just recommend that for most serious resellers for tax benefits (you'll keep more of your money & you can write off a lot of your expenses).

So, I would say 2 things....1) probably consult an accountant in your state if you want to be 100% sure....but 2) you generally pay tax on your profit. .......if you're referring to sales tax on the amazon platform or other platforms like ebay, poshmark, and mercari, they generally collect sales tax for you. But I would look into it slightly for your state just to make sure. I know for PA all of them collect it for me. Then I just pay income tax on my profit. Hope that helps!

You can either... 1)use your EIN for your current business and buy products, sell products, and report the income on your current business. 2) separate the 2 and file for a new EIN so you can keep better track of the profit, loss, revenue, etc... or both. It's up to you honestly...but if you're just starting out, you could go #1. Hope that helps!

I would consult an accountant to be sure....but in my opinion yes you can. There's nothing that states you're a "foodtruck only" when you start the business. Your business can be a foodtruck that also resells. Hope that helps!

Why use liquidation or wholesale businesses and go through them, rather than start your own liquidation or wholesale business? Wouldn't you see more profits by owning your own business and selling products yourself that you source straight from manufacturers or retailers?

What should I put for Date of first Florida taxable activity if I have no sold any products yet due that my business is not launched yet?

I would say that then...or just put the date you created your EIN. It’s not going to matter for your taxes. You’ll pay taxes on your profit. It sounds like they’re just asking that question to see what kind of sellers are applying or something.

The tax situation is different for each. You would save a lot more money by forming an LLC and you'd protect your personal assets....but consult an accountant in your state if you want more clarification or specifics. Hope that helps!
