This guy has some good advice, but as someone who has been working as a frontend developer for 8+ years and transitioned into full-stack development, which I've been doing for 4 years (React/node.js), I’ve never seen such a brutal job market. Yes, it may improve, but it’s going to take ages, and it's very much a senior-only job market for the few positions that do exist, although the pay is still good. Full-stack roles now seem to require much deeper knowledge of infrastructure as well. In short, breaking in as a self-taught developer or even as a CS grad is going to be very hard at the moment, and this won’t be changing anytime soon.
