Brett Domino at it again with reminding us how terrible pop music is, then following it up by absolutely mastering the production of pop song. Every video he does like this is a paradox that messes with my head, which I'm sure is his intention. It works, because now I want to buy the song. Well played, Brett.

@mitchclarke19
@mitchclarke19 4 жыл бұрын
@@kirahviofficial5761 Just because something has simple elements, does not mean it's garbage. It actually takes a lot of skill and talent to make something so simple, so effective. A lot of effort goes into making something like a pop song sound so effortless.
@confusedasian2212
@confusedasian2212 4 жыл бұрын
@@mitchclarke19 Lyrics are made by a marketing team. “A lot of skill and talent to make something so simple, so effective.” Have you listened to Yummy? It was like the #2 pop song on some chart for a while. Are you really going to tell me *that thing* takes talent and skill to make?
@mitchclarke19
@mitchclarke19 4 жыл бұрын
@@confusedasian2212 It does. There is a lot more to a song than just it's lyrics. It's melody, harmony, structure, the whole beast of production, whilst maintaining coherence and avoiding overcomplication. A lot goes into it and a lot can be appreciated. And just because something is written by a team as opposed to a single person doesn't make it somehow less in quality. If the exact same song was written by one person as it was a team of people, there is no difference in quality, the only thing it means is that a lot of people helped in crafting what becomes the end product. Look, I'm not saying that every pop song made is great, that has never been true, every era of music has had multitudes of music written that is not great. But the point I'm trying to make is, despite the presence of less than great pop music (which has been true across all genres and throughout all history), there is still great, amazing pop music that (while sometimes appearing simple) takes a lot of time, effort, skill and craftsmanship to create and a lot of care goes into making it the way it is.
