Like I said in the video, its pretty much always going to be blocked on mobile devices, so there is not much you can do about that, but depending on what countries its blocked in, you decide whether you want to try uploading it again.

I definitely believe that has something to do with it. My Feel Good Inc cover was blocked and I fixed it, but then when it got about 7,000 views and 800 likes in about a day they decided to block it again lol It's so annoying!

Yeah, that's why I prefer to change the pitch of the track if it gets blocked. I change tempo before I originally record it.

Awesome videos. These have helped me out so much. BTW: For anyone doing drum covers, If you are copyrighted by a company known as The Orchard or The Orchard Music they are false. You can send them an e-mail and usually they let you use the song. I posted a video of my drum set-up and used my friends song and they claimed it. He said they tried to claim it when he uploaded it to the bands Facebook page. File dispute and e-mail them.

Hey coop! How come some peoples covers get blocked and others don't? Like you mentioned your locked out of heaven cover, i just watched another kid do a drum cover and the video wasn't blocked. the track sounded the exact same as the original. Just curious as to way some will and others wont.

It is always gonna say that, there is almost no way to get a song up without it realizing it is in there even if the pitch is changed. You would really have to mess with the song in some crazy ways to get that to not pop up.

I uploaded a test of a video that would take me a week to upload a good version of (bitrate wise) - the test video came back with no problems, copyright identified, but they allow on youtube, then my good quality exact same video uploads and (same exact sound) and it gets blocked worldwide. I wonder why its random - they allowed every track on one and sited the same songs - it just blows my mind, it looks like it picked up songs in different order on the newest try, but same songs

Depends, but usually it isnt. Your video just get blocked, but sometimes you can get copyright strike

Haha its funny how you use "dont you worry child" as an example cause i covered that song yesterday and it got blocked worldwide! Lol but i also just speed the track up a tiny bit and then it works fine! Its done this to me several times with artists like Coldplay, Katy Perry, and mainly Linkin Park! But anyways its good you put this video up for the people who dont know! I get people commenting on my vids asking how i made it threw the copyright and i just tell them to speed the track/cover up!

I did a song by Trey Anastasio called Alive Again. They busted me. I think you'd like John Fishman as a drummer, if you can get past the whole stigma. What if you use software to "Karaoke-fy" and remove vocals or drums? Would that work? And can they even do that?

so if you´ve already recorded the cover and than have to Change tempo to get past Copyright you have to record it again, right? I don´t get how pitch and tempo Change can get you past Copyright. I always thought the copyrighted part of Songs are the lyrics and the guys blocking the vids are just watching for those. good to know that it´s not like that :D

I uploaded a clip from a Saturday Night Live skit, then quickly posted the funny video to my Facebook friends. My friends were IMMEDIATELY told that it violated NBC copyright... How in Hell was it blocked so quickly? I didn't title the video with the name of the show, or names of any characters or cast members, & I edited it down to only less than a minute. Best I can figure, there's a secret line of code in there that announces where it came from. There HAS to be a way to bypass that shit. I've seen other people's SNL clips without them being blocked. WTF?

+Jeff Kolman It's called audio fingerprinting or as youtube calls it "Content ID" it's kind of like a snapshot of the audio wave. It works in a similar way to the app "Shazaam" if you've ever used it. It checks every upload against a database of copyrighted content regarless of the video name, descriptions etc etc.
