I learned about Warmoth from Darrell Braun’s guitar channel and have been hooked since. In fact his build videos going step by step showcased tricks and pitfalls of builds that have been completely invaluable when working through my own build. Not sure I would have taken the plunge without his content because there are many things you could do wrong, and it can be expensive.

I've also seen and liked Darrell's Warmoth videos. However the first ones I came across on youtube were from a guy named Tony Mckenzie who built some incredible guitars using Warmoth parts kzbin.infosearch?query=warmoth.

@@warmoth Hey Aaron! I'm so close to finishing my build .. I just have *1 more burning question* to ask you *About the neck width at the nut* On the warmoth necks... So for the neck I want : *standard thin neck profile and 11/16 43mm nut, standard stuff* . I am wondering : *is width of the neck up at the nut the same width in every neck profile that you have* ? * *neck width* dictates what nut width *will suit it best then, no?* . "I can't see any measurements on the neck profile section on The Warmoth site about this , SO therefore if I want a 1-11/16 nut but the necks width AT the NUT is say 1 3/4ths, then wont there be too much wood on the shoulders of the fretboard for that option? OR when I choose 1 11/16ths nut then does that mean *the standard thin neck profile gets cut accordingly right to the user selected nut width in warmoths factory??* . . I thought this was worth asking since I haven't heard anything about that point specifically on any Warmoth neck comparisons/neck profile/nut width videos etc! So if there is any correlation between those points it really got me thinking^ and I'd be very interested to know from you first hand .. . Or for example say you have a boatneck profile something ridiculous on the guitar( example), now let's pretend the 1 3/4ths *neck width at the nut* (example) does that mean it has to have a 1 3/4ths nut to match it surely ? OR is it opposite in that the nut width must be smaller to have "room" on the fretboard and you go with 1 -11/16th ? . . This is the last piece of the equation I'm trying to figure out. Really hope you see this and all that makes some sense🙏 ^ please stay safe and healthy during this time, once warmoth is available to start shipping again due to covid I'm looking forward to finally pulling the trigger and putting the beast together 🙏🤟 also if you have any social media a personal one I'd love to send you pics of the guitar when its finally together before I post it up in youtube. Thanks again in advance for any feedback Aaron all your videos you take the time to do rock 🙏🤟😊 - Adam

Hey, Aaron, buddy...Heh-heh!...listen, I was just kidding about the hair plugs, man... Seriously, though, I seem to recall a couple of members of the Foo Fighters saying that, while they were organizing to go on tour, they ordered parts from Warmoth and built guitars and took them on tour. And that they were impressed by the quality. I remember thinking, "Yeah, I was pretty happy with my Warmoth build, too."

Well,all I can tell you and your audiance is this.last year about this time I bought a bran new American made Fender Precision five string bass.Always wanted one.I really liked it ! Enough to contact you to make me a AAA Birds eye Maple neck and fingerboard fretless and lined.Time passed but the day came ten weeks from order and right on time.I installed it and it was totally Awesome to look at.Ajusted the neck and to this day I long to play that Bass ! Everytime I do play it it is for several hours at a time.The neck is light years better than ANY neck I ever played in 54 years of playing guitar,,,,,,,now Bass. All I can say it I placed the Warmoth sticker on the headstock and with out reservation . What do I want.To go grab my wonderful Bass and play for hours :>) What do you get ? This honest persons review of your artistry and craftmenship .Your workers and wood selectors are top notch and talking with you was easy and fun.Cheers Warmoth.

Everything in life is Give and Take. It sounds cold but if you think of it even when in a romantic relationship that you feel good and have fun each one gives something and takes something and if the balance is not right you break up. In business is colder and endorsement is a business arrangement.

It's hard being in a small band trying to gain even a small endorsement. The band I'm in has been around for over 10 years (I joined 3 years ago) and we have a decent name for ourselves in our small branch of Canada (the Maritimes), but because we're so tiny in comparison to other bands out there, we never get noticed simply because our numbers are low. Any suggestions how to make that work in a small band's favour?

Hi Aaron, Hope you are well. My question: in 1979 I assembled my own Partscaster Strat. Over 40 years old, it is still going strong and people love it. Would you have any idea what company made the parts in those days? A very good luthier who did some work on it recently, suggested it was Warmoth (said a lot about the quality!) but I don't think you guys existed in those days. The body was sold as American walnut (very heavy) the neck was Canadian maple with a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. Any ideas?

Here is a strange question. I have been thinking of a roasted Ash Strat body for a build that has no finish or I apply Tru-oil. I think an unfinished body has a better tone. But I really like the roasted alder body with Red dye and satin finish you used in another video. Has anyone requested in a build or would Warmoth build a roasted ash Strat that has red dye satin finish on the front and sides but unfinished roasted ash on the back? I know a goofy idea but has it been done?
@warmoth
@warmoth 4 жыл бұрын
We wouldn't do that....you would have to try something like that on your own.
4 жыл бұрын
Roasted ash does need a finish. If you wipe over it with water, the water is being absorbed (and it raises the grain). Only the roasted maple (neck) becomes sealed (waterproof) during the roasting process. However, the roasted ash (and also the roasted maple) looks way more awesome as soon as you apply 1-2 layers of tru oil. And there's basically no way to hear a difference when doing just such a minimal finish.

Why can't you do it on original necks??? Can't you make necks with a different spec? Your own original neck, headstock, etc..and just specify that this is the neck pocket spec you need to have?? Say look, ok these are licensed tele and strat necks. But THESE, are our necks with our own design and measurements. I wold love to find original things that are not only strat or tele. Things that maybe I'd just have to modify the pocket in my body a little wider or whatever. So let's say, bigger than fender specs. Can't you then brand it however and wherever you want to then?

Sad that so much value is placed on a logo or the shape of a headstock. I would be more than happy to let my Warmoth banner fly proud and high. In theory. But the cartoon turtle is just not too cool. Maybe come up with some cool and distinctive lettering (like every other brand) and give a nod to the turtle with a very small stylized inlay somewhere (headstock, truss rod cover, , 12th fret, whatever). But make it small, elegant and cool. Not big, green and cartoony.
