You can actually get special balls from the tournament at the academy also. I got a love ball after falling asleep with a turbo controller going and when I woke up I got a love ball. I also got a lure ball that I assume was from the academy tournament before that because I don't know how I got it but it wasn't from the Pokedex. So from what I can tell it's very rare that the tournament awards those.

Just an FYI to everyone. Auctions reset every IN GAME day. You can also advance the In game days by changing the time in your system in 30 minute increments (30 minutes will get you to or close to night from day time, do it in these increments to not overshoot changing to the next day). You can also farm the Ace Tournament for a chance of Apricorn balls. I AFK farmed Ace Tournament while sleeping and woke up with a few. I guess that's not important enough to mention seeing how it can also provide you with a lot of money to buy them at the auctions if you don't get the ones you want but what do I know? I've only been playing Scarlet and Violet for [REDACTED] hours close to two full living shiny dexes.

I used my Fast Ball on my Chi-Yu (Fast Ball have a x4 catch rate on pokemon with over 100 speed). Also the color scheme matches so I'm happy with it :).

My favorite of special Pokeballs is the Heavy Ball. I like the color scheme it has and I’d like to use it to catch Pokémon with that similar color scheme. However, I know that unless you’re doing a Tera Raid, it only catches heavy Pokémon. One thing I learned recently is that after I had cloned Koraidon to get more Master Balls, when I used one on an Amorouge in a Tera Raid and tried to breed it, the egg Pokémon wound up in a regular Poke Ball. Must be a negative effect of the glitch.

Heavy ball can catch any pokemon. Only exception is in Sun Moon.

Once Home compatibility is out you could make a new save on a different account on your Switch and move your entire livingdex to that save to instantly complete the pokedex. I think it'll take you at least 30 minutes of playthrough at the beginning to even get at the point of receiving the dex in the first place though.

Once Home access comes out and if you have a Living Pokédex and if you can trade with yourself or have a friend who wouldn’t mind helping you you could, in theory, do the following: -Start a new game on a different Switch profile (I have a profile named “Pkmn Farm” for this kind of thing) -Advance far enough in the game where you get the Pokédex and can trade. -Use Home to complete your Pokédex -Get the reward Apricon Balls and trade them to either yourself on a different Switch or trade them to your friend and then trade them to your main game. It sounds time consuming but if you want more than one easily it’s an option.

I was hoping the Apricorn Balls would become available for purchase after preordering the DLC, but so far winning multiple Academy Ace Tournaments and Porto Marinada auctions are the only possible way of getting them. Also, I got a few Pokemon inside Safari Balls., which is the only type of Pokeball that can only be obtained from Sword, Shield, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Reset the auction house by restarting the game... Duh... Also love balls can be bought only from the auction house. Not in pokedex rewards. Got mine in 2 hours of resets. Got lots of dupes now and got a shiny flutter mane in a love ball too. The more you know.

Stop resetting days. Just save in the auction house then restart your game. It will be new if you change the days or not.

@@cheyrose4552 Be prepared to spend some time and money 💰. The starting bid is 100.000 Poke Dollars. They don't take LP. And the price can skyrocket. The Auction House resets every 72 minutes. That's 1 hour and 12 minutes. You can manipulate this by time travel. 1rst turn off auto save in the game. Go to the auction house and put down a hard save. Go into the Switch settings, turn off the clock auto sync and manually change the time. Go back to the game. Check if the 3 vendors have the love ball. If one of them does have it put down another hard save and start bidding. If you loose just soft reset. If none of the vendors have the Love Ball keep time traveling. You may need to change the date as well. Oh and it's the 3 vendors in the center isle. None of the others sell PokeBalls.

I hate how you cant put a lock on pokemon to stop accidental trades. Got horrible feeling i may have traded fast ball pokemon without realising. Oh well at least if i have it might have gone to a more experienced trainer. I still a lot to learn especially in Scarlet and Violet. Terra is awesomely fun but hard for me. Also worth nothing that the price of the auction is pre-determined. I just tried to soft reset a Friend Ball that cost me 355K, and it cost the same the second time. Considering money is not that important as EV training is piss easy in these games anyway, I bit the bullet, lol.

Beast ball does not show up in auctions. Also, you can get Beast ball and the rest from the Academy Ace Tournament but the rate is insanely rare (1/1000 according to some sources)
