I watched this and halfway through decided I should find my own shiny Sobble like I’ve been trying to the past few days-and instead as soon as I got my water encounter power sandwich I got an uncommon shiny Farigiraf from an outbreak I was hunting, ran to the Sobble spot and immediately got a shiny Rhydon. Maybe watching PM7 really does get you more shinies

How do you get so much herba mystica?

Couple easy ways, one if you get every table cloth you can talk to a guy near the entrance of Kitakami hall, he will give you some chairs for getting them, and if you actually have them all he will give you 2 of each herba mystica, also certain speacial coaches will give 3 of a certain kinda of herb, though John probably got something like iorn hands and beat a bunch of Tera raids, however only a couple raids give herba mystica

Protip, John did everything right in the outbreaks. KO 60 to max odds (I always KO an extra ten since the prompt that the ob is getting lower can sometimes pop up before the max), and if you wanna find a specific outbreak, you have a higher chance of finding it if you reset the date in the area the Pokedex says that they appear

One very clear way of knowing if you like scarlet and violet is "Do bugs and frame drops bother you if it has good and interesting story?" If the asnwer is no, borrow it from the library to see if you like it enough to buy it second hand. If the answer is yes, but you still wanna try it out, check if you can borrow it from the local library and reserve two weeks to complete the whole game (dlc is not neccessary, unless you really like it, I got 200 hours in it before the DLC was even out)

I have felt rushed and lost outbreaks because of the clock too many times before so for several months now my strategy for resetting has been simple, just rewind the clock to a few minutes after midnight each time, give yourself a 24 hour window for every reset which also allows you to take a break or even get a full night's sleep before resuming the hunt.

Fun fact: I actually found a shiny Snivy once without actively resetting for it. By which I mean I WAS resetting the Snivy, but I was resetting for a female, and given female starters are INFINITELY more common than shiny ones, shiny hunting wasn't even a twinkle in my eye.
